Im just glad there is competition in the GFX market, if not then there would be a monopoly and we would have to pay outrageous amount of $$ for shit products.

5870 averages 1 fps more than the 480 atm, i hardly call that SMASHED. However the min fps which is far more important the 480 smashes the shit out of the 5870.
i would say so. the gtx480 is single core keep that in mind.
The 5870 is single core too!

Dont knw the full spec of the board yet but I think it is able to support 4 way SLI at PCI-E x16 2.0 on all 4 slots and has 2 NF200 chips, and is said to be able to support PCI-e 2.0 at 16x/8x on the first third fith and seventh slots.

More dissapointment from AMD. Phenom II x6 is beaten by an i7 930 (when equal clocks of course) in almost every test, and the 930 is cheaper. However in some video encoding stuff and benches that use every core the x6 does pull ahead.
Bulldozer will be interesting.

Those head phones are awesome. I would buy it, but it requires a 5.1 Sound card. I have a 7.1. Renders useless if i buy it without the 5.1 Sound card.
I've connected my 5.1 speaker set with the 7.1 sound card. The sounds are not as good as they where when i had the 5.1 card in. The missing sound is defiantly noticeable.

Charlie think it will work just fine with your sound card, it depends how you setup you driver in widnows and in game, most games only support 5.1 any ways hardly any games are able to do 7.1 unless it is virtualized.

And how is it that you can just say its retarded without giving a reason, they may seem a bit weird i will say that, but i recon there is a method in the madness.
Subject: Re: New PC tech. Mon May 31, 2010 11:44 am
Fair enough; their features strike me as relatively useless: why is the sound generated at the top of the headphones if it just travells into the earpiece anyway? how does that make them any better than 5.1 or 7.1 headphones that have speakers in those positons in the first place? As far as i can tell all it does is gives scope for loss of clarity through the whatsit that the sound travels through.
Secondly, surely just taking off your headphones is easier than popping two flappy plastic thingoes by your ears so that you can listen to someone talk. That feature to me seems utterly pointless. Also it will probably mean that more sound escapes through the gap surrounding the plastic flippy thing.
Thirdly they're pink. While not being sexist in any way im just saying the company might want to consider the majority market and go with the conventions of black with extra black, maybe a little red, blue or green thrown in there instead.
Fourthly its 300 bucks. I payed 200 for my Razer Megalodons. What is in those headphones that would make me want to pay the extra hundred?
Fifthly it has an amp, and honestly if you're considering spending money to get an amp for a computer why not buy a soundcard instead?
Sixthly I've been doing far too much writing lately, I think I need to get out a bit more...

Yeah I used to post here quite a lot, but lately I've kinda fallen behind a little with the rest of the members. All I really play nowadays is Left 4 Dead seeing as I cant afford BFBC2, but I'm sure as soon as Crysis 2 comes out you'll be seeing me around quite a bit more.

One factor (albeit a small one) that influences my buying of tech is the look. Afterall, i dont want to look like a fucking dickhead with citcuitry and shit all over my head at a lan!

keep in mind its a cheaper version of the 480s and 470s, and is nowhere near the 480 CUDA cores the 480 has. But yes, still shit, i'm expecting the price to be about 300-400 Bux. Max i reckon is acceptable is 400 bux.

Yea Xeon's with Dual QPI link. I would get this board but it serves no purpose apart from benchmarking. I would need LN2 with this board aswell to achieve world record scores.

Pretty bad performance from the GTX 480 SC and it uses more power, think that ATI might have stepped their game up a bit, and it uses less power.DX10

Thats the resident evil benchmarks. As soon as I typed "resident evil Ati" all that came up is driver issues with a few scenes. Nvida close to nothing, through my skimming.
Point made though, that it uses a shitload less power. So there the bang for buck cards + there eco friendly. Saving you some money on the energy bills lol
This huge debate between both cards has got me confused. I'm looking at purchasing either of these high end cards, but both have there pros' and cons'. I guess I have to wait until someone benchmarks crysis 2. Then that will give me the verdict. Because predominantly, that will be the only game i know of, on my desktop, that would need some awesome set up. Every other game just needs a GTX295 and bobs your uncle.
