GTX 480 price: $499 US and GTX 470 price: $349 US.
So im guessing in Australia that will be about $650 for a 480 and $450ish for a 470

Well depends where you buy from. If you buy from USA then yeah less than that. But in aussie stores they like to rip us off and make it a bit more expensive.
(5870 $420 in US 550 in Aus).

Nope, i kinda doubt they will make one. The single Gpu idles at 50 degrees, and on load runs at up to 95 degrees on load (although in the testing they only had 1 120 mm fan 8 inches away, most people have better cooling in their cases).
They would be struggling to have multi gpu that doesnt desintigrate itself. For now im afraid SLI is the only option.

Neweggs doesnt. So thanks for nothing boots.
VIAddress.com provide a shipping service. They essentially give you a US address than forward the parcel to your Oz address. Rates seem pretty bloody good. Ill do a bit more research to see if its all legit.

What the fuck boots. Neweggs states on their website that they do not ship internationally. You said that most shops will, without providing any example or proof. You have been about as helpful as wet toilet paper!

LOL exactly read it... sry for the immigrant's that requires full explanation, just ask bob, simple word "HOW", and i would have explained (woops i didnt specify in my previous posts)
but you can still get products from any shop in the US, it is an increase postage LIKE I SAID.... some people do an increase of postage, some do a % on the fee
my roommate uses it all the time...... http://www.priceusa.com.au/index.html and it seems pretty safe, he said, and i quote " 100 plus products and they dont fuck you around. i takes longer"

If you read my post boots I asked for stores that sold Gpus that posted to Oz.
Thats great you got items from newegg. If only you replied to my first post that it came through a mail service that charge extra (with a link), I wouldnt be frustrated trying to decipher a meaning out of your posts.

Pitty they didnt do a test with them in SLI think that NVIDIA might have put the ATi in their place.

SLI vs Crossfire, what NUMB NUTS napster told me was that Crossfire dont work to well compared to sli.

yeah but that's doubling the card.
If Ati fixes a few driver issues in regards to Crossfire. Like now, as you see it, Ati is far superior. Thus having the potential once again to beat SLI.
And here i was saving some money to buy one of those GTX480. I might stay loyal to the Ati unless it's just driver issues also for the 480's. Time will tell.

Is this nvidia's best? the 5970 still tops the 480, even in one of the tests for crysis the 295gtx beats 480 and 5970
Guest Guest
Subject: Re: New PC tech. Mon Mar 29, 2010 5:48 am
Yea but the 5970 is a dual GPU card if you took 2 GTX 480 and put em in SLI Nvidia would PWN that.

Illicit is just a Nvidia fan boy in denial lol. It feels like what happend to Xbox 360 and PS3 though the PS3 is a superior machine that the xbox 360 is far to expensive for the purpose it was made to do.

i just want the one card. Sli and crossfire is overkill. Just the one good card. They have yet to perfect and given proper benefit for gamers having either SLI or CF. 5 frames more for and extra $600. Really not worth it.
The basis of having a good vantage score? lol? what for? just for a lousy bit of numbers. If it increases the frame rate of most games substantially then were talking our money's worth.
But for now we are the consumer Guinea Pigs funding there test's for a better product.
Single Card FTW

My advice.......Wait for Nvidia to bring out the big guns with a dual GPU 512 core beast in a few months and watch the 5970 get a run for its money then!
Also after every new release in the series (of witch there will be many) the prices of the 470-480 etc will come down dramatically.
REMEMBER!
This staggered series release and thus, performance increase happens every time a new series is released lol. When the GTX series came out my dual core 9800GX2 was beaten by a single core GTX and my quad sli 9800GX2's were beaten by my dual core GTX295..........
The GTX 480 is a little less performance wise then my 295 which is dissapointing, was hoping it would be better going by Nvidia's history.......as with all tech they are getting to the limits and its harder to increase performance as rapidly as in the past.
Looks to me from the bench's the ATI can handle AA increases without loosing FPS unlike Nvidia.....in one test the 5870 actually gained FPS going from 4XAA to 8XAA rofl?

Oh god.
Its like saying Skyline GTS-t Versing a V8, in which the V8 loses and complains to the skyline because it has a turbo.
It's what they come with stock standard which offers the results.
quad crossfire = 8GPU's
Ati still wins.
I would wait untill the prices drop and when all there shit is close to say it's fixed, or they throw in a product like the 8800GTX that stays awesome until this day.
Or......................................
I shotgun a 295GTX from boots.
But i wont be fussed. PM what u want for your mobo and processor homie.
