| I'm running THE most lopsided system at the moment i challenge you to top this. AM2 4600+ dual core processor 2 gigs of Supertalant DDR2 800 some oldschool gigabyte mobo i cant be fucked finding the model number for 800 Watt Gigabyte ODIN power supply Creative X-Fi that has given me nothing but trouble and will no doubt be the last creative product i buy and the finale, a 4870X2 that is CLEARLY not running at its full potential due to crappy cpu clock speeds. In an antec case i dont think you scumbags could handle if you saw, i think ill keep the horrorshow of untied cabling and unsecured parts all to myself thanks. Antec for the lose. Oh hey yeah the core i7 comes out this month, ill replace my cpu with one of those bad boys and put a proper benchmark up here for you guys to look at with envious... envy |

| Currently I'm running a 17" (1650 x 1080) Macbook Pro with 2.33 GHz C2D, 2 GB Ram, 160 GB split 32 GB for XP with the rest for OS X 10.5 and a Radeon X1600.
However, with my pay on Tuesday I'll have the money to build a proper gaming computer which will most likely be as follows.
Intel Q6600 4 GB DDR 800 Mhz 5-5-5-15 500 GB HDD GTX 280/HD 4870 XFX 780i mobo
Hey MilkandCereal, what fps are you getting? |

| I usually play Wars at 1680x1050 on medium detail, which looks awesome, and I get roughly 50-60FPS but sometimes it drops down to about 40. And yes, I have played rFactor, but not very much of it. I prefer GTR2 and Test Drive Unlimited for my racing games. |

The Q6600 seems to be a really popular CPU. |

| yeah buddy dont need more ram if your running xp at least you wont be able to move to 4gb without it scaling back
xp ftw tho fuck that vista shit they just extended the life on xp AGAIN because vista still isn't business ready and they've finally ready to close the gap between xp and windows seven when it gets released in the next two years. Basically thats microsoft going back on all that "omg xp is obselete" and providing people who buy new hardware with the option to roll back to vista.
end of rant
yeah q6600 bro, still gets some supa fast benchmarks i must say realistically you wont be needing an upgrade for a while. |

look back a page and add a Xigmatek 750W modular PSU. Unfortunately I got an email and they don't have the PSU in stock so I'll get the mobo today set it up and then add the CPU, RA and PS when I can pick them up. |

| Well its made and the only thing I need to do know is install the graphics drivers. I have a few pics which I'll post later when I could be bothered to go upstairs to get the cable.
Final Specs CPU: Intel Q6600 RAM: 4GB GFX: Gigabyte GTX 280 Mobo: Asus PQ5 Case: Antec 900 PSU: Xigmatec 750W HDD: 2 x 250 GB (I already had these) Optical: LG DVD-Ram/RW Monitor: 19" Proview 1440x900 Speakers: Logitech X-530 Headphones: Senheisser HD280 OS: SP SP3 (Will be Vista 64-bit once I have the money)
As I have typed this it has finished as is now ready to go. Well I'll forget the Windows updates.
Next Upgrade: Vista 64-bit OEM with 2 or 4 gb ram purchase. |

| I had already thought of that, but last year I had a make everything legal phase. I bought something like 24 games last year. I didn't buy another one after Crysis until Spore then Warhead and I've pre-ordered Far Cry 2. Everything on my mac is legal, except for XP. I'm going to try to keep my pc as much as possible legal. Plus I'll have 8 GB ram once I've bought Vista.
BTW I'm writing this from within this strange but cool Asus thing. Basicaly there's a really cut down version of linux on the mobo which allows you to use the net, look though pictures, chat and skype. Its called express gate and I might use it more if it would support my monitor size.
I've been playing Wars and outside I'm getting about 45-70 fps outside (except beach) and over 120 inside buildings on all high. I'd be lucky to get 30 fps all low at 800x600 before.
@sgtkiller life is just so much easier when you use legit copies of things. |

| I haven't installed Warhead yet. I wanted to play CS:S again after ages. Oh I suck at that game. Beach seems to be really strange. At points I only get 20. Although it may have been a leak. I just updated my graphics drivers and BIOS so I'm going to see how much things changed. Its cool because I can actually update my Bios from within windows. If you could already do this ages ago, keep in mind that the PC that this one replaced was built in '05 with parts that were top in 2001-02. Good ole Radeon 9550 and XP3000+. |

From 8800GTS 320, I could bump my Cyrsis settings from lvl 3 to lvl 4 with AA on x2. A significant difference in visuals, but such a small setting change for an extra $200.00 |
