So what is it I gotta do for that? I noticed and improvement in my torrents already, and my net doesnt cut out, period. Although today it was slow but the handy billion features showed theres interference on just about every channel. So I spent maybe 30 minutes trying to use my old belkin router as a repeater/access point but gave up. Also that may only slightly increase my connectivity.. I could look into breaking into all the neighbourhood wireless networks and setting them to broadcast on other channels so i get my own frequency airspace, but that'll take a while |

Its optus cable, not ADSL, if ur with optus im sure they wont charge u to swap from ADSL to cable, it was released not too long ago called "Optus Premium Speed" or "Speed Pack" So you take the normal optus cable prices, example 120GB for 49 bux, add $10 on contract or $15 for monthly, and they set u up for the speed pack, they also send out a cisco modem ($99) - as the old SB5101 modems cant handle those speeds without shitting themselves. Also, if your using router, youd wanna make sure ur using a Gigabit compatible router, as the 100mbit dont really use the speed pack to its potential. Even when there is congestion i still get 80-90mb/s ;D i download from nvidia, cnet, microsoft at about 8-12MB/s =) Might also be good to note, optus are currently finishing up their upgrades on the network, so expect an even better improvement. |

| Gosh I'm having problems I've also had for a while my wireless internet usb dongle, a Belkin G+ MIMO (which was a surprise because it looked exactly like the N MIMO which it says on the box it should be, but i didn't check until much much later its serial and product code revealed it wasn't..) has problems not only with just Win7 but it seems to be quite slow periodically.
It was working fine before but now its all gluggy and i can barely load anything GAAAAAAAAAAH Should get a new wireless card or something. |

| You should really get the Speed pack Belkin... lol, i had a few belkins ... all died, really dont like belkin, theyre hardware sucks - its mainly for eyecandy. IMO netgear have released 2 routers, high quality, the WNR3500L and WNDR3700 (dual band) only difference is the latter has dual band for faster speeds and better coverage, i use the WNR3500L and its excellent, never had a problem, and it runs 3rd party firmware like a charm. Also if your running on wireless i highly recommend setting the wireless channel yourself, cause if its on auto it will just fuck its self silly if sees other wireless routers around. three channels that dont overlap channels 1, 6, and 11. Although people also recommend trying 3, 7, 9. i use channel 11, i have about 3 routers in my neighborhood, never had a problem with wireless too, it increased my range HUGELY setting the wireless channel to 11, my router is in the front of the house, and i can stay connected all the way to the end of the back yard, (Wireless /G not /N) If your going to buy a new wireless card http://www.netgear.com.au/au/Product/Adapters/RangeMax-Wireless-N-/WNDA3100 needless to say its not cheap, but you definitely get what you pay for. |

| Yeah man i've had a play with the wireless channels already, they all tend to get 'severe interference' during the day. The router is an improvement though so I'm happy with it, at night now my connection is pretty good.
Guess I'll look into a new wireless card, possibly, over the next week or so. |

| Chronic internet problems now seem to be fixed. A tech from Telstra came out to check the lines because our net has just been shitting itself for ages now and this month it just ceased to work. Turns out a line near our house had a connection that had basically broken down, so he fixed it and now we are getting decent speeds. Previously used to get 0.5mpbs on ADSL2+, now we are getting apparently 5mbps max, but through my computer its about 4.3 Huge improvement for me, glad that saga is over. Now to see if i can compete with you other guys getting crazy speeds |
