| I can't see page 7 it just go's black on me. As for the speed it is adsl 2+ for some reason i always get a high test result but then again my ping is always better than most so fucked if i know. In BFBC2 i generally have the lowest ping in the server, It may have something to do with living 400m from the exchange lol. |

| Well... that explains it lol I'm getting cable because I'm to far from the exchange for ADSL 2+. On speed test the max is 6mb with 0.8mb upload. Not fast enough for my liking. Cable should be faster. But what is this superfast Telstra? i might have to do a bit of research |

| There is standard cable from relates and extreme cable.
Standard= 8/1
Extreme= 30/1 availiable in more areas then below. 100/5 I'm on this now. You need fibre optic however.
100/5 u shall pay put of the are for but it's the most stable nd fasted landline for residential users. Telstra does fibre optic installions at a price.
30/1 is more realistic if u want affordable. Stable fast speeds at reasonable price. Quacks is on this and I used to be. I had no problems with it from the day I got it till I upgraded to 100/5.
30/1=3900/125kb realisticly 100/5=13000/600kb realisticly. |

| 2moro i recieve there new modem for the speedpak for cable broadband. DOCSIS 3.0 max speeds of a 100 Mbps, average 70-80 Mbps. telstra had the highest speeds of 30Mbps have now been put to shame, about fucking time too with there over priced connections.

| Syler mate I pay 75 now with the new speed 150 gigs of dl 30 for my house phone and 50 for optus. Dont have movie channles cos the sux with there 1 year of repeating bs and net is unlimited so no extra charges when I go over. Plus I cant even get telstra cable in my area so fucking fail aint it. Optus provide better service and cheaper deals.
And also get 10% off on top for having six services bundled. Telstra r shit |

| HFC charlie, nice speeds sgt also 192.168.100.1 shows that only 4 channels for downstream and 1 for up is enabled, if optus enabled them all theoretically youll get twice the download speed and 4x the upload i guess theyre waiting for the NBN, What i find sweeet with these new speeds, is that even with congestion youll still get awesom speeds XD |

- It also has the advantage that it'll get through the Senate. The ALP clearly wants the NBN to pass, but the Greens policy is to support it as public infrastructure, and oppose its privatisation. The new independent kingmakers created by Saturday's election have all expressed a desire for governmental stability, and that means they need to be able to get legislation through. An NBN which remains permanently in public ownership ticks that box rather well.
The Government's NBN privatisation plans propose creating a Government-funded cash-cow for telco executives which will inspire us to spend the rest of our days grizzling about how expensive the internet has become.
Treating the NBN like a road will give the nation a public infrastructure asset which we can be proud of, and incorporate into the fabric of our lives.

| So in the space of half hour or so my internet has disconnected 25 times. Yes. Twenty fucking five times
I'm sure maybe the modem and router are cooked being old and all, given apparently there aren't problems with optus although a couple of times our net has shut down all together for half a day (only this year, and only twice).
So my question is:
New modem-router; what should I get AND does it matter what I get given I am with optus? do I need one that is compatible with them? |

| dog its prob not the router...has your speed been upped lately? If so it more likely the line cant handle the speed, try a diff profile, run it at adsl1 G.dmt and see if it still drops out. Untill we get fibre the copper will always have this issue. Mine drops out in ADSL2 mode all the time so i run it in G.dmt and its stable at 9500....the extra 5000 with 2+ isnt worth the dropout headache...... I still dl at 1meg/sec which is plenty for me |

(again ;P) im really happy with this service, never under 70mb/s sometims i hit 105mb/s i d/l from nvidia / cnet / some other sites @ 10-12MB/s ;D |

As far as I know the speed hasn't changed, though Optus increased our monthly download allowance. but that was a while back. My net's always been shit, its been the same modem for several years now I wouldn't be surprised if its cooked. What do you mean by profile? for router or modem? either or, how do I go about doing this. My modem is a DSL-302G, router is Belkin Wireless G F5D7230-4 |

| OKAY okay, called Optus, worked through some stuff, got a new router-modem (billion 7800 series) and set it all up, testing it out now to see how my connection handles.
Fingers crossed its all working sweet. Also, I like how my router-modem has tons of settings, I know what cos was talking about now by profiles hah.. |
