| Opening on Feb 11th is 1Day clan's Australian Crysis Community map design competition. All rules and details can be found here: http://1day.enjin.com/cartscupIf you are a map maker or have in the past designed a map you think may be worthy of the title than click the link above! The contest will be running for 3 weeks, with a week extension available to those who apply for it. There will be a winner awarded in both the PS and TIA categories with an overall winner announced. Prizes include 24 hour hosting of the winning map (for a set period of time) on 1Day's public server. Also on the discretion of FTW the winning map may be considered for hosting by them. Remember to check out the link: http://1day.enjin.com/cartscup and get cracking on those quality maps . Any maps you have made in the past (like Alpha-Shore) can be entered as well.

I was bloody joking for fuck sake. Settle the hell down. Anyway, is FTW going to be entering the comp? Anyone going to make some maps from your community? |

| Interesting indeed bob, the map description as follows: A small alien island located below the great island Australia in the sothern hemisphere. It is populated with imbred alien like creatures and is slowly drifing toward where it should be. First inhabited by alien like folk from the sea now established as a chocolate producing pimple on the planets surface. |

| I lost most of the work due to an annoying malware virusy type thingy on my PC which forced me to format and reload windows.
If anyone has a copy of my map "ProtoMountainPS" which contains the .cry file from ?? May 09 or later I will consider entering it, after a few final touch-ups of course and an editor rage episode or two .... The ?? April 09 .cry file I already have, and is in fact a much older version with a few minor fixups to make it playable, but there's about 6 months of weekend work to bring it to the same level of completion as the May 09 file.
As Charlie has already stated this map is big, so big it makes Mesa look like a rather small map, as such a reasonably full server would be required in order to find anyone to kill at least for the first 5 possibly 10 minutes. If you took all of the "standard" crysis power struggle levels and stiched them together at the edges like a quilt, they would probably still fit inside the playable area of this map. Most peoples reaction upon opening their map once entering the level is "OMG how freakin huge is this level, have you got enough crap to capture or what", in fact if you capture everything without dying you will have well in excess of 5000 PP. Should you choose to drive from base directly to the Proto by the shortest possible route without capturing anything along the way, it will take around 2 to 3 minutes just to get there. Should you find yourself without a vehicle and hopelessly lost in one of the out of the way forest like sections, activate your locator beacon and await a rescue team to extract you .... seriously .... it may take you more than 10 to 15 minutes to walk to the nearest vehicle in a worst case event, there is approximately 30'000 trees, not to mention all the shrubs, bushes and grassed areas. Should you find your way into the main cave / tunnel network and manage to get lost, head for the bottom as this is where the 2 access points are, from the very top of the cave's main chamber some 250 metres above sea level you can parachute to the bottom for a quick exit. The main cave and associated tunnel network by itself would be sizeable enough to be a complete IA / TIA map, or could be converted to become a small PS map with a fair amount of work, unfortunately due to the limitations of my knowlege of working with voxels I had been unable to place any suitable access points in the upper reigions of the cave to this point. Should you consider flying anywhere near the enemy's base you WILL be promptly raped from the sky and lit up like a christmas tree by the super long range turrets.
While it may sound like I am being mainly negative about my own level, this is the reality of such a huge level.
For those who would be concerned about downloading such a large level, please don't be, the file size was less than 35 Mb and I think the more complete versions were down to a little over 10Mb. Really I would just like to get it finished and officially released, so it can be played in a 'real world environment' by the Australian community whom I had primarily originally created it for.
Please take the time to have a look in your levels folders for "ProtoMountainPS" and check to see if the .cry file is present for both crysis wars and original crysis as someone may still have it buried somewhere, it was tested on both versions of the game by mainly FTW members or now former FTW members and a few other randoms lucky enough to get an invitation at the time. Thankyou, Gone_TroppoFTW
I would like to participate and perhaps I will find the time to fix up enough of the major problems with the version I have, in order to give some of the participants of this contest a feel for the possibilities within the crysis editor, even if the level is released somewhat unfinished and raw as a beta version or something, I certainly don't have enough spare time to start a fresh level from scratch for this contest.
Quacks, I nominate your 2 levels to be included, Trinity Cove and the other one forgot the name, that prick that had the light switch in the prefab, you know the one, had a really long title, I think it was called FAILEDTOFUCKINGRECONFIGUREOBJECT1AGAINWHATTHEFUCK.
ROFL ... ahh the good times. |

| Interestingly enough yo could actually enter the map of Tasmania, well a map created using google to create the actual heightmap data, only you would still have to populate it with stuff.
Instructions on crymod on how.
Though being Tazzie it would probably self populate by breeding with itself. |

| We are going to extend the length of the contest as Serbz, Sasstraliss and Troppo (should he chose to enter) will require it. The close date will be 11th of March with an extra week available to those who need it |

| lol Nano saying about the Alien like beings on the island would be so fucking funny if he had learnt to spell properly, we are not Inbred (Imbred) and we live on the Southern Island not the sothern. And if the comment arises about said Islanders having two heads instead of one well that just makes us twice as clever as most |
