I'll be buying this game for the Single Player by the looks of things. It really is a disappointment to those of us who have stuck by the game for the past few years. Hopefully some good does come out of the game, though I doubt to much will.

a community mod is the only way this game will survive in the future

I will buy it just to see the graphics first hand and also the modding side of thing, plus i dont mind making maps

Will survive just fine without one mate. Only with a different community.

For a long time I have said that Crysis/Wars has the best FPS multiplayer experience you can find, due to the in game weapon customizations, the seamless integration of vehicles into multiplayer and powerstruggle mode.

Now for crysis 2 they have thrown it all away and become just another Call of Duty rip off.

On the other-hand if you have been following the hype around Black Ops that is looking to be the greatest CoD game to ever released and I would much rather buy that than Crysis 2 now.

If I want to play online as an invisible soldier I will just re-install AVP, at least I can play as an alien in that.

I too am looking forward to Black Ops more, now. I think it is supposed to have a multiplayer reveal in a few days as well (hopefully that means a beta).

They have made some bullshit decisions, fucking hate the lack of prone in any game, and tiny maps with no vehicles when the whole game was about strategic gameplay. Air dropping in from a vtol over the prototype facility, steathily cloaking on the way down, get in, go to armor / speed and fuck people up..
That was awesome gameplay
At the same time, vehicles on tiny maps in BC2 make me pissed off to high hell

Agreed, but I won't regret my decision to preorder it because its still the successor and will be a different game experience. I don't like the current call of duty and even bc2 wears my nerves down alot with the bullshit medics and rocket noobs.

At least with smaller games, you can focus on proper shooting and skill, if not, go to one with people you enjoy playing with. Large amounts of people on small maps (which they seem to have) ruin it, also I don't doubt the pc community will find a way to introduce larger maps and possibly vehicles for those times you just want to wage a war. Hell I'll learn how to make and texture models just to import them into the game for some fun times with vehicles.

Lol. Thats just ignoring all the shitness we have been presented with until now. Its not all that bad. But not what we're used to. People are just frustrated that it is not the Crysis that we are used to. For those who haven't really gotten involved into the original Crysis then this game will be bliss. I'm looking forward to the SP still

Hmmmmmm I wont make the same mistake buying a game that I didn't really want when it first came out (Starcraft 2). That seems like a team fortress spy class thing, waiting to uncloak before you may attack.

I seem to remember that it was delayed so that it wasn't competing with so many other AAA titles, rather than ironing out bugs.
