| I tried windows 7 it is GREAT but i don't like the taskbar changes and i had to uninstall it after 1 day because it Stuffed up my vista partition.
But it was good for that small amount of time i'm buying it as soon as it's released. |

| Ah ok sweet, yeah when you buy it if you install it/reformat when you install i don't think you'd have issues mainly because you'd have no vista haha, but then again with a new OS there can always be problems... |

| I have Win 7 X64 7057 build running dual boot with Vista X64 on my second drive ATM. I must say I am very impressed, its super quick on my rig and with the new nvidia drivers 185.66 my system has never run better! I can run Wars so much smoother with this OS even in its beta stage, so cant wait for the finished product. I was playing on Frost the other nite on full spec 'BEST' detail at 1920X1200 and getting 60-80FPS??? With Vista I was getting 40FPS with shit loads of stuttering and lag. Its fucking amazing being able to properly play that map on full detail n see all the snow drifts and particle effects etc. running on lower specs you forget how pretty this game is lol. BTW I havnt been kicked by pb at all using Win 7, as i know some have. Build 7068 is out also with 7075RC1 on the way very soon.
Well done Microsoft this is shit loads faster than XP with more features than Vista lol.

| I have windows 7 as well ( a cracked version so it wont expire and the send feedback and 'for testing purposes' watermarks are removed) running as my only OS and its AMAZING. It has so many great features and it runs super smoothly, definitely recommend you get the beta, i can upload the cracks on rapidshare if you want to use them. |

| so far what ive read, the changes sound like something for a Vista patch the only actual useful changes (though not worthy of a whole new OS) are the Better Device management. fucking annoying having to look through different shit to play with devices - actually not really, i have control panel in the start menu open to another menu listing everything it can do. anything else can just go to My Computer, and from there to Network Places (or control panel again..) My computer actually lists all connected devices anyway.. and if you really needed anything just go to Computer Management under Administrative Tools - list everything. fuck i should make it a shortcut on my desktop and BOOM i just got myself a Windows 7 feature. and improving home network management? how fucking hard can that shit be, you must be apeshit retarded to not know how to make a home network and share files and printing over it. 'take control of problems' haha makes me laugh, ive turned off all auto updates and dont have anti virus. every 6 or 12 months ill just do a format to clean the shit up. ive got spybot which already does what vista introduced about allowing programs to do shit in the background or not, and its much less annoying (doesnt ask every 5 secs if im sure i want to run word and if im sure i want to open the document i just edited 5 mins ago). browse with firefox that has NoScript installed - never have a virus ever unless i purposely give myself one. the touchscreen stuff means you dont need to install drivers to use it, and the handwriting detection = OCR = nothing new. just its now bundled with windows. so my correction would be; the only real useful change is that its supposedly faster and better battery life for lappys. otherwise, its pretty much a patched vista. and vista was just a patched, better looking graphics whore for XP all the features they list are already in xp and vista. biggest scam to get people to pay like 200 to 400 dollars for this shiz. Zzzz.. if Cosmic's marked performance holds true however, because of the OS alone, then it may be worth getting simply to streamline how the OS runs. everything else is just more eye candy, dressing up the same old shit. here's proof of how full of shit microsoft can be: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/dd350196.aspx2000 words to say 'it goes faster'. |

| I ran the 7000 build and also had a brief go on the 7100 build... fucking fantastic OS. Trumps XP and Vista put together. The only problem is PB games still aren't supported so i'm stuck on Vista till then I think some may work sort of on the 32-bit version, but the 64-bit version you just get booted for unknown windows version. |

You guys have tried both 32 and 64-bit versions of Win7? I know the 7000 build kicked because that's the reason i had to go back to Vista. It's a very widely known issue that PB isn't properly supported under Windows7, all you need to do is google "windows 7 punkbuster" to get a tonne of matches. I also know the 7100 build kicks in COD4 because the build i did this week, the owner tried it and it kicked him with the same error message; "unknown windows API function". Guess i'll have to give 7100 build a go with Wars to see how it goes. It might not be as susceptible to the issue as other PB games. |

Also a new PB update came out at start of this month i think so may have fixed and compat issues.

| Hey, I just installed build 7127 and installed all the drivers and stuff and after that the system crashed. Now when i restart, it's stuck on the "please wait" screen for like 10 minutes. Then after that it goes to the password screen, i type in my password and it gets stuck on "welcome". Has anyone else had this problem and anyone have any idea how to fix it? |

Its probably been loaded with viruses or its not a working release. Get the official 7100 RC off microsofts website, the retail version should be out in october so you dont have to wait long for it |

def worth it imo Bobby......have been using it for a few mths now and it is really good. Maybe worth trying the RC version b4 hand for free...just load it onto a spare HD and you can boot to either XP or it on startup. Cos |
