im getting a new HDD since my segate barraduca sucks ass (never get it!!!). well, what i wanted to know, is it possible to delete windows OS from my old HDD while leaving my installed programs, (without going in every folder and deleting them) now if its possible, on my HDD ive used up apprently 300+ Gb, 110 gb is my shit, 100Gb windows shit, and the remainder is well, not comming up, i suspect its windows files that dont want to be found.

Edit: Just got off the phone with windows, they say its possible but there gunna charge me 200 bux to tell me LAWL!

Yes what Wounded said i think thats how most people learn, But i will help you out any ways. And the answer is no you cant just delete Windows because all those programs are setup in the registry to fit that copy of windows, but you are able to save all your media documents pictures and other stuff on the hdd and then install the second hdd make shure that it comes up as c drive or else u gonna loook like a monkey, and then when installing programs just do it so that windows installes it onto the second hdd.

ahh....there goes my hope, so im gunna transfer all my programs etc, etc, to my other HDD, then re-transfer them back, meh...i guess its the only way.

you would be better off doing a fresh install of everything, like a clean slate, and things perform much better.

if you are happy with the performance, use Norton Ghost to take an image of you operating volume to put back onto the disk/partition.

ill prolly do a fresh install of vista on my other HDD. the filed on this HDD are irreplacable. and i cant burn some on DVDs

i got both XP and Win 7 RC on my comp dual boot. well theres 7RC 32 n 64bits. ill replace the 64 bit with a working full win & when i get one. then get rid of the RC

yeah, im thinkin of getting Win 7, but only when SP1 releases, i know vista is a pain in the ass, but i always find work arounds. hope win 7 lives up to our expectations :O
