Subject: PS3 w/ Mouse and Keyboard Sun Nov 28, 2010 6:21 pm
Hey guys
As I've mentioned somewhere I got Black Ops on PS3, after trading in my 360, to play with friends and what not. However I've found using controllers for fps on consoles to be appalling, my KD being something pathetic like 1.18. All the strategy and movement I use is useless because I just cant aim accurately or fast enough on enemies no matter how I set my settings.
So I've been looking into keyboard and mouse set ups for the PS3 and found one that seems quite promising:
The Eagle Eye Converter, by Penguin United http://www.penguinunited.com/info/Eagle%20Eye%20Support%20Page.html
Apparently they are really good at keeping up to date, when 3.5 firmware for PS3 came out that stopped a lot of third party controllers working, Penguin updated EEC the same day. It's supposed to work with most wired controllers, and although doesnt support wireless some do work.
Their website apparnetly got hacked recently, but I can buy from an Australian reseller for about $95. http://hillsdistrictconsolemods.com.au/playstation-3/controllers/eagle-eye-converter-for-playstation-3-eec-/prod_356.html
Considering giving it a go, thought some guys may be interested in this kind of stuff. if not oh well I'm just talking to myself so I can find this again if i need too
My concern is my Logitech G15 keyboard and Microsoft Sidewinder X5 mouse won't work with it, according to this article: http://ps3.mmgn.com/Reviews/PS3-Eagle-Eye-converter-Review
So we will see what happens, but its my best bet so far.
