| If you go with SGT's method ... lick your fingers before pulling off the plastic/rubber or it will fuse to your skin and no amount of effort will remove it before it burns the shit out of you ... same goes for tidying the ends of a nylon rope FYI.
6x9's going in tha 'rolla ... its a rock'n'rolla now LMAO do you really have to listen to enya, britney spears and celine dion that loud Carts
Why on earth would you use a Stanley screwdriver to strip a wire Carts ??? WTF is wrong with you ??? j/k |

| or you could be really lazy like me, and instead of wrecking your expensive alpine sound system and get it professionally installed.......
$700 for an install with sound deadener may seem like alot, but for the pure joy of knowing my sound system sounds awesomely wicked, it was worth it |

| Prepare Shmoe, because you got anal reamed $700 FFS
Seriously its not hard to install your own shit, get someone to show you once and do it every other time, otherwise you will be paying 700 again. Invest in $10 test light and some wire strippers, follow the wire diagram in your manual and your good to go. |

| $400-500 was just for the shit in the boot to stop the rattle, but the car being an ED, naturally that plastic light and number plate shit on the boot still rattles a bit, but its quite a lot quieter than it was, and all the wiring was about $180 (all rockford fosgate gear) so i wasnt too worried |

| OMG! this is my thread now...carts you farkin spongebob anything will do the bloody job but I got the proper real deal wire strippers, I can strip exact amounts and does up to 8 gauge. 700 for an install? what did they exactly DO? What type of system have you got shmoe, it would want to have some decent speakers and amps to demand $180 worth of cabling.
I've got Alpine type R 6*9" just lying around and also some DDDrives....lying around. |

| why would you want to listen to crap ipod quality...they dont have 24bit DAC converters or Advanced Sound Retriever technology. Keep your tightly compressed music file holding crap clarity ipod outta this convo. Use a CD player and use original cd\'s and you\'ll notice huge differences between ipod files and cd\'s.
I tell ALL my customers that the most important part of a stereo system is the cd player, you can put the crappest speakers on them and it\'ll turn them into gold but if you use a crap signal processor your gonna find that even good speakers will sound like mud.
Shmoe....you spent more on the wiring then the headunit? shame shame shame shame on you lol
Ya cant have a cheap headunit send a crap signal to the amp and expect it to work magic and make a good signal.

| because they are tightly compressed and sound crap compared to the original uncompressed version. You just cant compare the two...AAC/WMA/MP3 don't have the crisp highs and lower bass notes like the original versions. Why would you not want to enjoy your music as it was properly designed to sound?
Plus...this is a thread about car audio....not purse accessories. |

| plus the convenience of an ipod that can carry 80GB worth of music vs a CD that can play approx 20 tracks before needing to change. or if you have and MP3 deck then thats a couple hundred songs, which makes the ipod more convenient, not better quality. |

| Ipods are not so bad, i got my one with a different kernel called rockbox that allows me to play formats like OGG. I only like it because it has 80GB worth of space and i dont have to import music every 3rd day like a flash memory mp3 player. |

| ALSO
If you have a good headset but shit speakers and no amp the real cd will sound shit, When i had my gtr skyline (little Cabin) i put in a 4 channel amp and 4 good speakers and when i plugged in ipod it sounded nice... i do run linux on my pod so i can play ogg and other lossless codecs..
SO FUCK YOU ALL
Go and waste your money on all the stereo shit and buy your shit plastic cd .. but don't put the window down.. that changes everything.. |
