1440x900 is the native res for most 19" wide screens. Try removing the plug and play monitors from device manager and re-detected them. restart your pc and they should then have the correct res selectable.

VGA definately does not restrict screen res at all. The missus is running a 24" LG @ 1920x1200 on a DVI->VGA converter and it is crystal clear

it'd still be nicer in pure dvi ;P gpu's are smarter then monitors when it comes to color coordination. but yeah what daemon said would definitely work.

most new gfx cards are only going to have dvi outs yeah? or did i imagine that..

haha i played fulll everything including 16Q aa, and i was only getting 20- 30 fps, then i fond out i havent enabled multi gpus in the nvidia configuration. full everything on 1680x1050 is around 50- 60 fps.

i dont play at that though

make sure you are also setting the r_MultiGPU and sys_physics_CPU to get increased frame rate. I run 90% of the settings at max with 16Q aa and I average 80 fps at 1680x1050 with my 2xGTX285's

i got 2 gtx295 atm getting around 60-70 without vysnc. when i put it on it drops

thx for those commands decoy. raised my fps like hell rofl. getting around the same as you now lol.

vsync will just make sure your frame rate is the same as your monitor so that your not getting 'overlaid' frames. So it should drop it down to the refresh of your monitor settings. Drop your rez and increase your monitor frame rate to get vysnc to work at higher frames
