I have a choice between the two because my awesome girlfriend for valentines day bought me a Nintendo Wii. The Wii will have it's limitations in fun. So I asked my girlfriend if I can change it to either a PS3 or XBOX.

She agreed!

And because I haven't bought a console since the release of the XBOX 1, I really don't know whats good.

So from your experiences which do you prefer? and don't say none because you have a PC lol

Do you want to play online only, ps3 network is free but 360 network is better but it cost, also the 360 guys seem to be getting more then ps3, Also depends if you have any friends who have a console that play online.

i have had 3 xbox 360's since release, they are a bucket of shitballs, i would not suggest investing in those machines, i have recently bought a PS3, not only is it SOOOOOO much better as a MEDIA device, the gaming side of it feels much better as well.

360 and kinect....got kinect for xmas and i do find it lots of fun...with others or even by urself....hopefully it will have something both of u enjoy

Yeah theirs a lot of emphasis on the kinect feature. It looks really good. The two consoles almost cancel each other out in features. Both Equal to their distinctive features

i own both consoles and i tend to play em alot. i tend to play the 360 for halo only and the odd few games. ps3 is more fifa/killzone/nba etc etc

ps3 has free online.
ps3 is a really great media device. the blu ray contributes to it greatly. the sd slots/usb slots etc also help.
they do have a good variety of games.
user interface is great as well.



xbox 360 has online. costs money but better quality, features service etc.
xbox also has kinect which is great fun. but like the wii it does have limitations for the time being.
xb360 also is a great media device and is perfect for streaming to from your windows media center etc. it does not have a blu ray player though which is a bit of let down.]

to be honest they both have great features i prefer my ps3 over the 360 slim because of it's media features. but it comes down to the games you play. if your a halo fan etc xbox is the way to go. games like fifa and all i find better on the ps3. don't ask me why just does also if youre gonna be playing online. research the online features of both alot. just because one charges doesnt mean they are worse. each side has their pros and cons to online.

my team is usually manchester united but i chose real madrid for FIFA 11 brilliant team ingame. yet to lose a game using em haha

only ever play at legendary or world class though. actually provided a bit of a challenge

yea xbox is good for kinect the best movement shit out there, but that shit doesn't interest me at all, obviously up to you, but kinect is the only good thing going for it imo.

I had a 360 Elite (red resident evil version) and eventually traded it in along with my games for a PS3 slim and Blops.

My opinion ultimately is don't get either. I just can't justify having a console for myself as the games that come out aren't that enjoyable except for hack 'n slash type games.

I'd actually keep the wii, modding it is super easy. a friend modded his and has it running every NES, SNES, GB, N64 game ever as well as his gamecube and tons of wii games he got. Definately makes up for what little you pay for a wii in comparison to the other consoles. It's called the WODE, look into it. Allows you to load stuff via usb n shit, pretty cool.

PS3 has free network, xbox360 costs money but as a result you tend to get some shit earlier (crysis 2 demo, blops map pack was released at start of feb, ps3 gets it march) so not really much but that can factor in.
Also more people on 360 have mics because they tend to get them in packs with elite versions or whatever, so you'll put up with lots of 12 year olds.

PS3 also has no packs unlike the xbox, if you buy one you get your ps3, component cables, and a controller. a few deals may include games but whatever.
360 elite has the big harddrive, HDMI cable n mic along with a controller n stuff.

I should add that PS3 exclusives tend to be better than 360 exclusives. PS3 gets GT5 which is a lot of fun as well.

i just picked up an elite for black ops, been on it every night its sweet.

In the end just pick the console with the game titles you want to play on it.

well i just bought a ps3 360gig and got 3 free games (including the new guitar hero) 2 hdmi cables and a optic cable, lol there are heaps of packs with it, you can get gaming, playtv psmove pretty much identical to all xbox packs, depending on where you go to purchase items and if you have the balls to say i will blow you if you chuck this in, thats how i got 100 bucks worth of shit for free.

I've been eyeing out the Ps3 package offered by JB Hi Fi. $599 with 4 games and some HDMI cables and controllers. I'll blow someone for boots to see if they can chuck in more if we pay cash. JB love cash lol.

And the decision looks like it's going to be the PS3.

Damn when I went in it was all basic crap. Just different harddrive sizes and one came with Modern Warfare 2, but it cost like $100 more or something.

2 much to read but charliei have both and the ps3 shits over 360. how ever if get the kinect and wanna stay fit then the 360 would b good for. the kinect is an awesome device and can b a greate workout. i have a fighting game for the kinect and after 1 fight ur huffin and puffin. but for any other gaming i would go with the ps3.

yea its like crysis wars really between 9c and 10, you wont see a dedi server with dx11 for obvious reasons

I read that DX10 was as much as a fuck up as Vista was so thats why the got onto DX11 so quickly. So DX11 would be more preferable than DX10.
