| Hi guys,
Im thinking of purchasing a high end PCI NIC, im abit hesitant though, Ive never used a PCI NIC- just the on-board one, has anyone used PCI NICs and seen an improvement in ping / jitter / consistency.
Im leaning towards the killer selection of NICs.

| Modems help out more with ping/consistency rather that a NIC. But anything like a good Pci sound card or NIC is better then onboard (depends on your motherboard). You wont see a huge drop or difference in performance maybe like 2% but having a Pci nic will also take some of the stress off the North bridge an put it on the South bridge so there are little benefits in having one but there not worth the cost. Ive never used a high end Nic my self but if you have a good Motherboard you wont need one,its just another scam thing for people who think that anything labeled with Gamer or gaming gear is a must buy for gaming computers so i wouldnt dude its not worth it. | thanks for that remorseless, those K1 and M1s are the old batch though i did once have a K1 NIC, did not notice any improvements, if anything, i notice a drop in performance, however these 2100s look really promising, guess ill have to read more about it before making a decision. |

| Yea man Reading up on equipment is the best way to make up your mind i think but i would have to say if you want to get a better connection to the net for gaming etc have a look at a good Modem because that would make a difference in your internet connection |

http://www.speedtest.net/result/911749129.png i want MOAR though, only reason im looking into a NIC is to bypass Windows Network Stack and to let the internet have it own CPU albeit it uses just under 500Mhz. im quiet happy with my connection, but if i can get it more stable, why not |
