| With this final crysis night coming up a bunch of people have tried to re-install the game and from everyone I am hearing the same thing, that they can't get on because of a punkbuster error.
Apparently you cannot update pb manually now because it no longer supports cwars.
Is there a solution to this so I can get more people on?
So far Crouchy, Hard and Shadow have tried re-installing the game and none of them have been able to play. I suggest if some of you FTW ppl are going to re-install you do it soon and find out if you can play.
If it is an obvious thing pls inform.
Crouchy wrote: Just installed crysis to have a few games and within minutes of connecting to a server i get kicked. Console keeps saying r_FSAA= 0 [DUMPTODISK, REQUIRE_APP_RESTART]..... Can someone help as I would like to play ahah |

| Well Tulzer's provided files are probably the easier way to go (as I think you have to register on that site I found and all...) if you can trust him lol |

| Another band-aid fix that may possibly work is to type pb_security 0 into the console. |

| pb_security 0 doesnt work all the time,
also, dont forget , once youvee installed the pb files to "my games / crysis / pb" copy the same files to (first show hidden files ) C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\PunkBuster\WH\pb and place the same files there. |

| Went through this with OB1 last night he had the PB problem,
The fix is to completely delete the PB folder and put the new PB files back into a new folder and put it where it is supposed to be.
If you just replace the files in the PB folder you will still have the problem, likewise if you overwrite the PB folder you will still have the problem, It MUST be completely removed and replaced. |

| Here's what Quack's put up last time this happened, the links have expired but the principal is the same, just use one of the links already provided by the others who have already posted. The reason people are getting this error appears to be because the server is running a more up to date or different version of punkbuster than is shipped with the game and evenbalance.com aka Punk Buster are no longer supporting Crysis or Crysis Wars. Punkbuster has decided to update again and clients seem to be having problems so ive updated this once again. A real easy fix is to download the PBSETUP from evenbalance and when you add the game crysis wars point where its installed to the My Documents\My Games\Crysis Wars\PUNKBUSTER folder and update that. http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.phpFirst delete the PB folder in your My Documents\My Games\Crysis Wars\PUNKBUSTER folder. Also delete the PB folder in your My Documents\My Games\Crysis Wars folder. Then delete the PB folder in your C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis Wars folder. Or if you have steam delete the PB folder in your C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\crysis warsDownload this file and unzip it into your My Documents\My Games\Crysis Wars folder. Also to your My Documents\My Games\Crysis Wars folder. Then to your C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis WarsOr if you have steam C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\crysis warshttp://rapidshare.com/files/166394644/pb.zipRestart crysis wars and hopfully it is all fixed. Download PBSETUP from even balance http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php |

| with vista (not sure about other OS) you also might have to delete and replace C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\PunkBuster\WH\PB |

| If you are being kicked and don't know what the problem is, Check your last game log file which can be found in the C:\program files\electrinic arts\crytek\crysis wars folder. Open the "game" text document with notepad and scroll to the bottom, some where near the bottom there will be a line like this if it is the punk buster version problem. [net 15.125] $5$5PunkBuster Client: Removing "YOUR NAME" 1c2c (0 minutes) This PB Server Requires (A1394 C2.160) - Error loading pbag Obtain and install / re-install the correct PB version for the server you are playing on.
If you have been kicked or banned for any reason you will find a line like one of these [net 13.046] $5$5PunkBuster Client: Removing "YOUR NAME" b286 (Prior Kick/Ban) [net 13.843] $5$5PunkBuster Client: Removing "YOUR NAME" 582e (60 minutes) Removed by Web Admin (Default Reason) [Admin Decision] [net 13.843] $5$5PunkBuster Client: Removing "YOUR NAME" 582e (60 minutes) Team kill limit exceeded (alternative specified reasons) [Admin Decision] You have been kicked or banned by an Admin or automated kicking / banning feature like the PB player kick vote or anti-TK system, Only thing you can do is to either wait out your Kick/Ban time period, or lodge a ban appeal with the server admins of the particular server. You have likely brought this unfortunate event upon yourself somehow and probably deserve it completely. In the event that you have been permanently banned you will get a message in a red box almost instantly upon trying to join the server saying "Banned from server." If the kick / ban is of the more temporary nature the server will allow you to join and you will be kicked either while the map is on the loading screen or almost immediately once it has loaded.
If your ping is too high for the automatic ping kick feature on the server you will find a line like this [net 13.843] $5$5PunkBuster Client: Removing "YOUR NAME" 582e (0 minutes) High Ping (>200) [Admin Decision] Find a different server to play on with a lower ping unless you know you should get an acceptable ping to that server.
If your Punk Buster client has for some reason stopped working you will find a line like one of these [net 12.750] $5$5PunkBuster Client: Removing "YOUR NAME" ed55 (0 minutes) RESTRICTION: Service Communication Failure: PnkBstrA.exe heartbeats stopped [net 12.750] $5$5PunkBuster Client: Removing "YOUR NAME" ed55 (0 minutes) RESTRICTION: Service Communication Failure: PnkBstrB.exe heartbeats stopped [net 12.750] $5$5PunkBuster Client: Removing "YOUR NAME" ed55 (0 minutes) RESTRICTION: Service Communication Failure: PnkBstrK.exe heartbeats stopped Closing and restarting Crysis or possibly needing to shutdown and restart your PC should fix this, provided your PB files have not become corrupted.
All the above will be followed by a whole bunch of lines like this at the very bottom of the page. [net 15.500] Disconnect 202.60.93.5:64100; profid=0; cause=19; msg='User left the game' CGameClientChannel::Release [net 15.515] $5$5PunkBuster Client: Not Connected to a Server $3r_FSAA = $61 $5[DUMPTODISK, REQUIRE_APP_RESTART]$4 $3r_FSAA_samples = $64 $5[DUMPTODISK, REQUIRE_APP_RESTART]$4 $3r_FSAA_quality = $64 $5[DUMPTODISK, REQUIRE_APP_RESTART]$4 System:Quit These are normal everyday disconnecting from Crysis and exiting the game messages, your problem will be logged above these lines somewhere.
Hopefully this helps a few people to pin point their problems and resolve them. |
