That's sad, they are meant to be the people who help put out fires without question. I'm sure they could have collected their money afterwards.

thats fucking ridiculous, as tulzer said thank god for volunteers, imo as soon as you start to fund things / provide a salary to things that involve human life, it will definitely get neglected.

Thats just sick. Those people are fucked in the head. Fires shouldn't have to be paid to be put out, it threatens everyone so it should just be dealt with and put out. As it stated it threatened the neigbour as well so why not just put it out then ask to the money.

Thats ridiculous, utter bullshit and its not 'rules are rules'. The fire department should have had to deal with the fire BUT then they could charge a high call out fee as repayment. Its exactly the same as how the Ambulance service works, pay to be a member for very little or face heavy fee's if you aren't and use their service.

I'd say the family should get compensation for their loss over a small $75 fee. They lost 1000* more in value in property than that and also the loss of life of their puppies, a roof over their head and anything that had sentimental value to them that is irreplaceble.
