p.s it does 18 mega pixel stills and 1920X1080 HD video also......stoked!

Was tossing up between the Nikon D90 and the 550D and went with the Canon due to the superior HD video quality and it not being 2 years old, just released this month. Got the twin lens kit Karma with 18-55 and 55-250 and a 16gb SDHC card.....have you seen the new SDXC cards? They are 64gb and theoretically can hold up to 2TB in the future??? God knows how rofl!

Yeah 1080p is always best. Even if the D90 is 2years old it still is great just like the D80 that still sell for $900 and released in 2006. I personally would of gone with the a different brand because the canon and nikons don't have in body stabilization so they produce them inside the lenses and in return the lenses cost much more, so if you get a old manual focus lens for the canon the body wont have stabilization. If you are going to get another lens down the road get a prime lens not zoom lens, reason being the prime have less glass which in return produces better quality and speed. Also most dslr in that price range have a smaller sensor (aps-c), smaller than 35mm so your lens mm will change e.g. 50mm turns into a 75mm and those zoom lenses change mm also.

Nice Cos, Ive got an older Canon SLR. They produce great lenses. Hopefully getting a new DSLR body soon and some new lenses.
Have you got any filters yet for the lens. If you dont, at least get a UV filter to protect the lens (scrathes etc), or even better get a polarising filter for deeper blues and greens.
