We will be using SSD's with optical fibre transfer cabling, poor old cd/dvd/blu-ray drives will become obsolete, especially when we all start recieving opt fibre internet. 100gb download limits will become average

all they gota do then is make a viable and speedy neural interface that doesn't generate much heat and we'll have GITS

^^ It be interesting to see how biomedical electronics will turn out in the coming future, for one GITS scenario is not so much fantasy anymore
