All i have to say is save a bit more money. and them come back with some better options than that, coz crossfire only runs at PCI e x16 and the second card at x4 speed not a good choice if u want to upgrade in the future, but then again u have not got a good graphics card, as long as you get the 55 nm version of the HD 4670 you might be all right, and then overclock, the only bad thing when it comes to graphics cards is pci e 2.0 as it is the way of future, not shure what game u are going to play ,if u play crysis i so do not think so unless u are able to play under 20 FPS on all low settings.

As for the cpu you might wanna try for a dual core 2 duo over 2.8 GHZ and even better if you can get the 45 nm cpu and Mobo that supports it, and again save some more money to buy better so that you can upgrade in the future

outta all those things.. i would get a new 4850 or 4870... and oc that cpu... that'll improve gaming alot!

And when u wanna upgrade your cpu or graphics card you can get a quad core and up 2 a 8800 ulta if you want and that will do u right

8800 ultra's are over rated for the price difference. there is little to no difference in gameplya i would get the 8800gtx.

thing is iv been saving forever, other expense chew me up so i just want something that can play crysis even on low to medium above 30 fps, iv also heard the 4800's have massive heat issues, like 70 + degrees with liquid cooling, also as soon as u start chucking in 8800's and the higher end mobo's my budget is fucked

hahahahhaa thats false info mate... 4850's are perfectly fine i got one oc'd... no extra coolers or anything and the heats low... u can also change the fan speed too... and charlie has 2 4870's i think and he's got them oc'd and he has no probs...

i would recommend 4800's... and just oc ur cpu and u'll get above 30 fps easy mate...

i got one 4850 and oc'd cpu and i get 40-60 frames on med... depending on map and watevs but yeah man thats all u need

You might wanna try take a look at this MOBO AsRock P45XE ATX MB, Intel P45 + ICH10, 2000(oc)/1600 MHz FSB, D u will notice that this MOBO dose support crossfire x but it supports it at x16 and x8 which will be fater

I personally wouldn't touch an Asrock board with a 10 foot pole. Crossfiring on varying bandwidths also results in terrible performance. 8x/8x runs smoother than 16x/8x. One GPU gets full bandwidth while the second gets half bandwidth and they have a stuttery fit.

On the money with the 4800s Gazz They run hot if you let the default fan run, but you can easily change the fan speed in control panel and they run very cool. I had my 4870 down to 45c at 100% fan, but shit its loud

But what is the point why not just go for a single slot PCI - e and maby even get a 2.0 vesion and buy a realy good graphics card, that way you can get almost double the performance than running in 8x 8x mode,

They only go 8x/8x when in Crossfire mode. It's 16x when just using a single card.

A Gigabyte EP45-DS3 will do 8x/8x CF or 16x single card. That's what i'm using atm.

Not shur if you can do this with crossfire but cant you over clock the second card to bump up the bandwidth of the second slot. If you can then cross fire would be a better selection
