usually the OS takes care of looking after the motherboard itself, the drivers you find you typically need are graphics, any wireless internet or ethernet sometimes, audio, and then peripherals.
everynow and then for some random reason you may need drivers for like USB or something, generally the microsoft site would have downloads for that that may be missing.
however, whether or not they are needed comes down to: is your computer on, loads up and runs? is anything missing or faulty? (check device manager) otherwise no they arent really needed.
