good job on the level troppo, its to big for my choic of map though, i like small maps and that sort of shit, so i might start to make one as well called URBANWAR. close combat FTW, its how it should be

Fucking one of the best maps I've played on. Top stuff Troppo (But honestly, why did you get me fucking thinking about making my own map... now that's all I can friggin think about.

Yeah i played on a map once that had a lot of the vehicles cloaked....only problem was none of the mounted weapons were cloaked so was a bit of a givaway. Also you had to remember to go into cloak mode yaself or you looked a bit stupid driving round in ya invisible car and every1 can see ya body rofl!
So when can we have a go onn this map Troppo???

Thanks guys for your comments, and JasonX for putting up some pics.
The map is still under construction, even though it is in a playable condition for both Crysis and Crysis Wars there are still a few issues to be fixed before it is ready for general release.

In hindsight making one of the largest power struggle maps possible probably wasn't such a great idea for a first map.
I have been working on this map for quite some time and have probably spent a few hundred hours on it so far.

The layers are painted, some 50'000+ items of vegetation added, major roads placed, US and NK bases built complete with all factories, spawn barracks, HQ, Base walls, and about 40 long range turrets each, there are 4 energy sites, a whole heap of bunkers and various cappable factories spread throughout the map with about 30 individual capture points in total, if you capture everything once without dying you end up with a little over 5000 prestige.

The mini-map is lacking in detail and is a little vague so I want to fix that if I can, and the loading screen is in need of a new updated image as the one I have was taken on a previous version of this level though it still works.

Currently all the re-spawn vehicles are cloaked, however once used and destroyed they revert back to their uncloaked state upon re-spawning.

I'm still working on fine tuning the TOD settings, adding more road signage, fixing up the terrain where it causes players to become stuck, and adding a few other things like containers, barrels, sandbags etc.

It'll probably still be a few weeks or months before it is totally finished depending on how much time I can put into it.
Currently the folder size is a little over 30 Mb and once zipped for download its around 18Mb, quite small considering the actual size of the level.
This will increase a little as I add a few more things to the level, but hopefully not too much more.

Cosmic, If you want a preview of the level I can send you the download link through TS one night and host from here,
Though my connection is only good enough for about 4 - 6 players at a time, I had 4 on the night JasonX took those screenies and It seemed to run without any noticeable lag.

I'll give you guys an update and new version to download when I'm a little closer to being finished.

I'm sure everyone will want to have a bash at it whilst nearing completion so maybe we should set up a custom map test night for map's like yours. I have the plantation2 on the go now so maybe we could put them on the AusServer rotation one night and set them up on the auto downloader. Could be a bit of fun and would help find any fuck up's before official release. Just idea's mate. I'll load your map up some time and get some better screen's at very high settings as I unlike the rest of you hatters I am on vista. And no this is'nt the place to rave on about what's better Quacks.

Actually that won't be too easy. The map's so huge that it's unlikely that people will walk and if they do, they'll probably use the bush areas to cut through because the roads for cars, not people.

Besides, as i said, it's huge. I mean it, it's huge. I could spend a month exploring this map, rofl. Wish i had a month to explore it too.

Although you can try snipe the prototype factory perhaps...?

Troppo runs tests of it every so often, when he'll release it for open testing or the custom map night god knows.
