Researchers have developed systems that read brainwaves.
Australian outfit Emotiv will release a headset whose 16 sensors make it possible to direct 12 different movements in a computer game. Emotiv says the helmet can also detect emotions.

cheap is also usually synonymous with bad quality, while this shit may still work it wont necessarily be equal to research stuff. also, $300 for a headset is still quite alot, it will probably cost even more than that when it comes out in 2000 years time after being patented by 50 companies and slapped with a Hello Kitty logo to really get kids attention.

I think once we can have large robotic armour that we can control with our thoughts will I be in heaven. I'd start a demolishion business and run amok with the robot armour. Robot wrestling matches ect ect.

Sort of like the robot mechs on Matrix....except without the gay controls and actual armour around them. If someone put the money into it we could have something out in a few years really.

I've seen some really good examples of robotics from Boston Dynamics. A robot dog that can run fluently, reacts to changes in horizontals and verticals so that it keeps itself stable even when the bloke boots the robot as hard as he can to knock it over.

theres been 'mobile manual assitance' type robots around in japan, which are pretty much exosuits and can lift heavy shit. they then made a more portable one, forget what its called..
