I find it hilarious they banned those two guys for writing the following:

The gap is narrowing? As far as I knew, it is widening, consoles can't upgrade their hardware, whereas PC can do it.
Explain me you logic, enlighten me please
Seems like DICE can't handle criticism.
Whether or not I'd get BF3 remains to be seen

# Aiming for Q4 2011 release # Concept for BF3 has been in the works for years, waiting on proper tech to seamlessly come together # Frosbite 2.0 is the culmination of this tech, entirely re-written # Lighting sounds neat, one “probe” contains more lighting information than an entire BFBC2 level. # Level destruction is going to be “believable” but basically everything is destructible. # Character animations powered by ANT, what EA Sports uses. # AI characters and multiplayer characters have different animation sets # No more “gliding” animations that look off, animation realism is a focus # Captured their own war audios (bullets, tanks, helicopters, etc) at different distances to ensure realism # Better audio cues for certain actions, more easily able to listen for threats # Plan on better, more immediate post release content # More unlocks than BFBC2 # Dice trying to find a good balance between customization of your character and not having “pink rabbit hat(s)” # 4 classes # Will talk about squads “later” # Looking into a theater mode but can’t talk about it # Will have co-op # There will be a kill-cam but it can be turned off # BF3′s team is almost twice as big as the team for BFBC2 # They want the pacing of the single player mode to be balanced, with highs and lows. Makes the comparison to a song vs a guitar solo. # Part of the single player mode takes place in Sulaymaniyah – Iraqi Kurdistan. # “Fuck” will be used often, so M rated for sure # There will be an earthquake in a level. The destruction sounds very impressive. 7 story building collapses, looks very well done # Significant narrative that goes with the SP mode # More than one setting, you’re not in the middle east for the whole game # PC version is lead version # Why 64 players for PC only? No complains from the console crowd. # No mod tools at release. Maybe none down the line either. Frosbite 2.0 is complex and mods tools would have to be dumbed down, so does Dice really want to put their time to that or would it be better spent elsewhere? # Original story, not based on Bad Company at all

The Assault and Medic a classes have been combined now, where the Assault class can either chose to heal/revive teammates, or you can opt for a grenade launcher instead of the revive kit, if you want more firepower.
The Support class is now the one handing out ammunition, and can also provide covering fire. You can mount your LMG and if fire in the direction of the enemy, you’ll get special bonus points for providing covering fire for your teammates. You can also select an assault rifle with a flashlight for the dark parts of maps (like tunnels), instead of the LMG.
The Engineer retains much of his role and load-out from Bad Company 2, you’re equipped with rocket launchers against enemy armor, and a repair tool to fix friendly vehicles, and a sub machine gun.
The Sniper has the same role as in previous Battlefield games, and is armed with a sniper rifle, C4 explosives, and spotting gear.
The game looks fantastic. Runs smooth, the lighting and details, the shadows are spectacular, whether indoor or outside. We dunno what hardware it was running on, but BF3 is absolutely gorgeous. After you die, a screen pops up that shows the custom dog tag and rank of the enemy that killed you — great little detail. Teams were USMC and Russians. Prone is back, it feels like it takes a second or so to go prone. Not too fast, not too slow, just right. The map offered a lot of variety: you can enter lots of buildings, go up to the second floor, camp etc. We already saw a few campers who loved the new buildings. Destruction is extensive and a lot more detailed. Even shooting a wall looks amazing in BF3. Weapons feel and sound like Bad Company 2 (on first impression), meaning they feel and sound fantastic. Player animations are far better than Bad Company 2 and other Battlefield games. Very fluid and lifelike, almost as if you are watching someone run in real life. The scoreboard looks a lot simpler than in Bad Company 2. We dunno if it was finalized or just alpha. We had a few awards pop up during the game (ribbons) which looked a lot like those in BF2. No commo rose. It wasn’t bound to the “Q” button. We looked, couldn’t find it anywhere. You can op-out of being revived. There is a health bar, but regenerative health is back. You can select fire mode (e.g. single shot, full auto etc.) 4 players per squad, squad leader is indicated by a star. Squads work pretty much like in Bad Company 2, and you still get squad point bonuses. In support, you can use an M4 with a flashlight. You can mount LMGs on the ground and on most surfaces, but the gun can only pan approximately 90 degrees to left and right, which feels realistic.
A senior informant has told CVG of how they witnessed Kotick's PA discuss Bobby's chances of a hands-on trial of the military FPS with EA reps on the door of the publisher's non-public presentation.
Our deepthroat tells us that the female assistant hopped to the front of the EA queue on Wednesday morning (08/06/11). The DICE-developed military title is only being shown behind closed doors in Los Angeles - and not on console.
Her request was reportedly stewed over for a minute in private, until an EA rep re-emerged on the public show floor. He then explained that senior management had been consulted about the Activision chief's request, but that "it would not be possible".
Kotick's company is showing off BF3 competitor Modern Warfare 3 at E3 - a presentation which is also invite-only.
We're told by our witness that Kotick's PA put up a small conversational fight before walking away. She did not look in a good mood. Our observer asked an EA rep on the door for clarification of what he thought he'd seen immediately afterwards, and the events were corroborated.

Untill then I'll just keep slugging away on BFBC2 unless something else happens to get released that's actually worth buying.

Single-Player campaign will feature places like Iraq, Paris, and New York Multiplayer modes include Rush, Conquest, Team Deathmatch, possibly more Co-op is a seperate 10 mission two-player designed campaign Class customisation is still in. You also get dogtags you can customise Defib Paddles require you to hold down the trigger, taking a few seconds to revive a teammate. If you are being revived, you have the option to refuse and respawn instead You are rewarded for keeping enemies pinned down by providing covering fire with XP. LMGs come with Bipods which you can use on a flat surface or while prone, for extra stability. They offer about 100 degrees aiming. Ground based vehicles slowly regenerate health. Vehicles can be immobilised, without being completely destroyed. allows people to bail out in time. You can destroy lights in game making parts of the map dark You can mount a flashlight on your gun, and if shined directly into the face of an enemy can blind them temporarily Destruction has been improved, but like BC2 not all buildings can be completely destroyed - for game balance purposes There will be a service called Battlelog, like Call of Duty Elite, except free. View your stats and everything there.
I highlighted two issues that are real improvements that I am happy with. I am glad DICE listen to their fans (finally).
I hate how Lars Gustavsson says "Medics were rarely equipped to be on the real frontline" and that the class was underpowered or slowed by heavy weapons, when realistically people would run around in Medic trains and dominate. At least with Assault being the medic class now, they can't constantly lay down one hundred bullets as cover fire to snipe you across the map AND revive everyone..
Other bits of information sourced from places like Twitter and hands-on reviews from E3

No spotting with Q by all players Knife my be equipped seperately to be used, and can either kill in two hits, or you can peform a takedown move to get their dogtags (which takes longer to perform)
Multiplayer features two sides: Ruskies and USMarineCorp, default kits were as follows: USMC Assault - M16A4 (4x scope), M9, Fragnade, Med Box, Defib Engineer - M4(Ironsight + flashlight), M9, Fragnade, SMAW, Repair tool Support - M249(4x scope), M9, Fragnade, Ammo box Recon - M110(telescopic scope), M9, Fragnade, C4
RUS Assault - AK74M(4x scope), MR-444, Fragnade, Med box, Defib Engineer - AKS-74U(ironsight + flashlight), MR-444, Fragnade, RPG7, Repair tool Support - Pecheneg(4x scope), MR-444, Fragnade, Ammo box Recon - SVD aka Dragunov (telescopic scope), MR-444, Fragnade, C4
This is the MR-444
9mm pistol with capacity up to 15 rounds, not sure if it'll be that in game.
Pecheneg
Pretty similar to M60 it seems, except uses the bigger 7.62x54mm russian round as opposed to NATO 7.62x51mm It actually weighs less than the M60, and has a higher rate of fire and longer effective range, despite being a bit bigger.
Sprint: appears to be unlimited stamina, can strafe slightly while sprinting Vaulting: When approaching an obstacle you can press space to vault over it. Cannot shoot for the one second it takes to do so. Or you can jump as normal Weapon Flashlight: Turned on and off with L, blinds people at close range, can be seen from a long distance Aiming: Hipfiring is only good for up close, aiming downsights is most effective. Accuracy goes from Snipers, to deployed LMGs, to Assault rifles, to undeployed LMGs. Prone is most effective for aiming. Rockets: so far pretty balanced, not like the CG in BC2. Revived: When revived you are in prone with blurry screen and unarmed for a second or two, you don't get healed to full health either; more like 80%. Destruction: appears to be toned down from a gimmic of completely leveling buildings and just realistically taking holes out of walls Suppression fire: When suppressed, your vision will be limited as bullets ping around you (blurry or something), you get points for providing suppressing fire. Reloading: If there is still a round in the chamber, you do a faster reload than when you completely deplete your magazine in the gun.
Still waiting on proper tank feedback in multiplayer, and air vehicle information.

Yeah from what I've read and heard, that is what happens. The VEHICLES regenerate their own health / armor. Not infantry inside (as far as I know).

Private Alpha testing started on the 20th this month. It looks awesome the graphics are great there is more recoil the guns sound different, there is even a visible shock wave when a nade explodes. The gameplay is more serious which dice wanted compared to bc2. I have to admit the style is a tad close to Crycrap 2; the map design, the vibrant colours, the character movement and the motion blur however he fucking doesn't tire out after running 5metres. Some dude talks about BF3 alpha in case you wanted to get psyched again
Feels more like Battlefield 2 than Bad Company 2. The pace is a bit quicker than in BF2, but it appears it’s because of the map and the Rush mode. You can now strafe run, which adds a lot more than it sounds. You can see your legs/feet when looking down or jumping over things. It’s not as weird as it sounds. No bunny hopping or dolphin diving. 3D spotting has been revised. It feels like you need to be more accurate when spotting enemies than in Bad Company 2.
Award pins have been replaced by BF2-style ribbons. There are a bunch of new guns, like the G36C, MP7, M27. There are now faction specific weapons and rocket launchers. When M-Com stations are armed, a C4 device appears on it. When disarmed, the C4 disappears. 100 points are given for a kill, +10 points for headshots, +30 for kill assist etc. You get 200 points for arming M-Com, another 200 for destroying it.
lots of good changes Faction specific stuff sounds interesting C4 apperaing on an M-Com is going to be a bitch at first, because I'm sure people like me will slap C4 on the mcom while arming just to blow up disarmers. 100 pts for a kill is a bit much, but 200 pts for arming is good as it encourages arming attempts.

I very much like the sound of where BF3 is headed. The comparision thing doesn't bother me at all. He has to give us something that we can relate to for us to understand.
I also like the faction specific weapons.

Origin required to play Battlefield 3
There has been some confusion over how EA’s new Origin service will be integrated into Battlefield 3. Battlelog plays a big part, with the ability to browse servers and join a game directly from the browser. But according to DICE’s Daniel Martos, Origin will be required in order to play Battlefield 3 if the game is bought in retail. We don’t know whether this is true if the game is downloaded through a digital download service other than Origin, but we suspect Origin will be required no matter what.
This isn’t a big surprise, as many games these days require a client to run in the background, most notably games from Valve, where Steam is required. However, it can become an issue if the client is draining CPU power, which was the case with Origin during the Battlefield 3 alpha trial. Of course, it was only an alpha, so many tweaks and fixes are bound to happen. Another issue is memory usage among these clients, both Steam and Origin appear to use somewhere around 50 MB of memory during a game (but that can depend on the game and other system specs).
Last week, EA confirmed that Battlefield 3 would not be released on Steam due to certain Steam rules where DLC and patches must be provided via Steam.
