Weighing up whether to buy this.
$50 on steam.
Its basically a tactical realistic war simulation. Dont know too much about it but looks OK. I dont think you would like it if your into 'rambo' FPS.
Anyone else into this kind of stuff, or played ARMA 1.

Hey uh i've played the first one, there's a few veteran's from the RAA etc that play that you meet here n there lol. Its a good game its good if you have a few fellas you know playing, then you can have people flying you into the combat zones n dudes with tanks giving cover etc.. then just move in as a group to take the town and so on. I liked the game when you have about 5 or 6 people as a group to capture shit and complete missions. ArmA2 looks alot better graphics wise.. (the first one was shit with graphics), and there seems to be more character freedom like jumping fences for instance.
I'm gonna get it when it comes out mainly for the multiiplayer and the fact that i wanna fly around that huey lol.
i remember bloodraiden playing arma alot, so you might see him in game. Try and contact him about it if you want boys.

Yeah Ive got ArmA2, I'm one of the admins on the OGN server. Yes usually Bohemia Interactive games begin buggy but they're actually a developer who support and care about the players. They continously release patches and shit - not just fixes, new weapons/vehicles and whole islands.
ArmA2 so far is looking great, the hard part is dealing with retards who think it's another COD4 (ONLY BIGG3R LOLZZZ)
So yeah I'd suggest trying out the demo first (completely ignore bugs as they'd either be fixed by now or Bohemia are ontop of it) and just see if the notion of dieing from a single shot from 500m away appeals to you.
Funny how Crysis made me rage so much to uninstall it (lol). I don't think I've ever raged from ArmA though - its not a twitchy skill game like Crysis, you usually beat your opponent through tactics and thinking. Not to mention the retarded amount of weapony, vehicles and aircraft!
My favorite part is the realistic ballistics they have, bullets aren't instant and are affected by gravity. Sniping just became a lot more difficult.
Oh and hi! - haven't spoken in 3 months since my last crysis rage-quit.

Yeah I usually hang around on the OGN server, that way I can control the influx of retards and throw down the ban hammer when needed. Name is just BloodRaideN ...as usual lol.
ArmA2 has a stupidly steep learning curve, but stick with it, a month or two you'll know the name of every single piece of military hardware that exists today
As I said don't worry bout the bugs too much, the first few month of Operation Flashpoint, and ArmA1 were rocky and chock full of bugs. 2-3 months later your playing with a solid game as well as the new content they throw in.
You'll see there's a couple of other Australian servers, Internode have no admins as far as I'm aware. GamingSA has only a couple. Whereas all senior and veteran OGN members are admins - so the server is under control 95% of the time.

The multi is good Cos mate. Most of it is team based but in saying that the majority of ArmA 2 players aren't 12 year olds running around gunning, so you get a good game play and working environment. ppl help out each other n shit, come to your aid if u need it, extract you from the shit if u need medivac and so on. Some good players and stuff goes on. Meh i've been playing in on and off when i can cos i'm capped... come on net only a few more days!!

Ken oath you can fly jets... they're insanely fun! Landing the first time was scary, but a complete success!
Unfortunately the only 2-seater is on the russian team (SU-34), the US jets are all single seaters D:

Earlier this month we announced that ArmA II would be going Free to Play (F2P). While Team Fortress 2 might be stealing all the F2P glory today, we are pleased to announce that ArmA II: Free is finally here and available now through our file library.
ArmA II: Free delivers all the multiplayer fun of its retail counterpart "minus the campaign, HD graphics and support for user-made addons and mods". The F2P instalment retains the game's full arsenal of over 300 weapons and vehicles, big team battle support for 50+ players and access to the SP/MP level editor. The game is completely free to play, host and share, without subscription fees or micro-transactions.
Arma 2: Free (A2F) redefines the free-to-play battlefield with its truly unrivalled scale and gameplay possibilities. A2F serves up almost everything offered by the original Arma 2 - the '13th best PC game of all time', according to PC Gamer [1] - minus the campaign, HD graphics and support for user-made addons and mods.
So it's not the full game, and you can't use mods But it's free.

Hello desicrater You should speak to Pauline about wanting your money back. Pauline complains about Homefront so much she goes into the game servers and complains to all the gamers online over and over... every night.. night after agonizing night. Pauline complains about the game and then personalises it by accusing the gamers as braindead and then it is on for young and old... server against pauline and I. However, there is a silver lining... we don't get banned anymore.
I hear there is even DLC coming out for homefront ! wait until pauline hears about this, more abuse on the servers ! The abuse is even better than playing the game ! I'd say see you in game but nah, none of you have it and i wouldn't recommend it, in fact it is FUCKING SHIT AND THE DEVELOPERS SHOULD BE SHOT AND BURRIED ALIVE

Kaos Studios (the Homefront devs) have been shut down, although I think they are still going to support Homefront.
