| Call_of_Duty_Cheater_Arrested_Charged_With_Cyber-CrimeAustralia has similar legislation, Cybercrime act 2001 What next Punk Buster to report directly to Interpol ROFL Instead of issuing global bans it will be issuing global arrest warrants. Unauthorised modification of a data transmission, Federal offence, 10 years imprisonment. Ridiculously serious consequences for anyone in Australia caught hacking any games/forums/teamspeak/servers etc. A step closer to hack free gaming but at what expense....an average of $75'000 per year per prisoner to keep some one locked up. 3/4 of a million dollars for every hacker removed on a 10 years sentence who's going to pay for it and where are they going to build all the prisons. |

| dont these people know internet encryption behind proxies? tsk tsk tsk.
Its true, it will cost the taxpayers, i vote for more security in games, yea they have alot of people designing the layout of the games, and making it look like eyecandy, but i think its time they hired professionals to create anti cheat systems, which wont be too difficult. That in the long run will save us taxpayers alot of hassles.
What im interested in is how the 17 year old kid, with one pc, issued a DDOS that took out the game lol. more like him and his school mates -.- |

| Basically if you misbehave on a computer within Australia the law enforcers can come and collect you any time they want to. Operation Santa Scores will be in effect this holiday season targeting computer game hackers and putting them away for lengthy periods. Hackers Australia wide will be formatting their hard drives in a hopeless panic effort, however their ISP's have all the records of the downloaded hacks needed to prove they went on the hack supply site and downloaded x amount of data for billing and taxation and other legal purposes those records are kept for at least 7 years, so they're screwed anyway. Australian cybercrimes act 2001 Division 477—Serious computer offences. {partial cut and paste job with some color added} 477.1 Unauthorised access, modification or impairment with intent to commit a serious offence Intention to commit a serious Commonwealth, State or Territory offence
(1) A person is guilty of an offence if: (a) the person causes: (i) any unauthorised access to data held in a computer; or (ii) any unauthorised modification of data held in a computer; or (iii) any unauthorised impairment of electronic communication to or from a computer; and (b) the unauthorised access, modification or impairment is caused by means of a telecommunications service; and (c) the person knows the access, modification or impairment is unauthorised; and (d) the person intends to commit, or facilitate the commission of, a serious offence against a law of the Commonwealth, a State or a Territory (whether by that person or another person) by the access, modification or impairment. (2) Absolute liability applies to paragraph (1)(b). (3) In a prosecution for an offence against subsection (1), it is not necessary to prove that the defendant knew that the offence was: (a) an offence against a law of the Commonwealth, a State or a Territory; or (b) a serious offence. Intention to commit a serious Commonwealth offence (4) A person is guilty of an offence if: (a) the person causes: (i) any unauthorised access to data held in a computer; or (ii) any unauthorised modification of data held in a computer; or (iii) any unauthorised impairment of electronic communication to or from a computer; and (b) the person knows the access, modification or impairment is unauthorised; and (c) the person intends to commit, or facilitate the commission of, a serious offence against a law of the Commonwealth (whether by that person or another person) by the access, modification or impairment. (5) In a prosecution for an offence against subsection (3), it is not necessary to prove that the defendant knew that the offence was: (a) an offence against a law of the Commonwealth; or (b) a serious offence. Penalty: 10 years imprisonment. (6) A person who is guilty of an offence against this section is punishable, on conviction, by a penalty not exceeding the penalty applicable to the serious offence. Impossibility (7) A person may be found guilty of an offence against this section even if committing the serious offence is impossible. No offence of attempt (8.) It is not an offence to attempt to commit an offence against this section. Meaning of serious offence
477.2 Unauthorised modification of data to cause impairment (1) A person is guilty of an offence if: (a) the person causes any unauthorised modification of data held in a computer; and (b) the person knows the modification is unauthorised; and (c) the person is reckless as to whether the modification impairs or will impair: (i) access to that or any other data held in any computer; or (ii) the reliability, security or operation, of any such data; and (d) one or more of the following applies: (i) the data that is modified is held in a Commonwealth computer; (ii) the data that is modified is held on behalf of the Commonwealth in a computer; (iii) the modification of the data is caused by means of a telecommunications service; (iv) the modification of the data is caused by means of a Commonwealth computer; (v) the modification of the data impairs access to, or the reliability, security or operation of, other data held in a Commonwealth computer; (vi) the modification of the data impairs access to, or the reliability, security or operation of, other data held on behalf of the Commonwealth in a computer; (vii) the modification of the data impairs access to, or the reliability, security or operation of, other data by means of a telecommunications service. Penalty: 10 years imprisonment. (2) Absolute liability applies to paragraph (1)(d). (3) A person may be guilty of an offence against this section even if there is or will be no actual impairment to: (a) access to data held in a computer; or (b) the reliability, security or operation, of any such data. (4) A conviction for an offence against this section is an alternative verdict to a charge for an offence against section 477.3 (unauthorised impairment of electronic communication).
477.3 Unauthorised impairment of electronic communication (1) A person is guilty of an offence if: (a) the person causes any unauthorised impairment of electronic communication to or from a computer; and (b) the person knows that the impairment is unauthorised; and (c) one or both of the following applies: (i) the electronic communication is sent to or from the computer by means of a telecommunications service; (ii) the electronic communication is sent to or from a Commonwealth computer. Penalty: 10 years imprisonment. (2) Absolute liability applies to paragraph (1)(c). (3) A conviction for an offence against this section is an alternative verdict to a charge for an offence against section 477.2 (unauthorised modification of data to cause impairment).

ive got a secure server set up abroad, i connect there if i need to get away from Aus' laws lol. but wouldnt that mean you could face charges overseas (based on overseas laws) for the stuff you have on your "secure server".... i'm gonna assume your server is in USA, for example i doubt they would allow any of the stuff australia doesn't allow. lol cosmic. boots bmw's are awesome. |

| Clearly you forgot to connect to your magical cloaked stealth uber untraceable interwebs before you posted an admission to having commited a federal offence on a public forum as the IP adress from which the posts are made from are recorded by the site as your Australian IP address FYI. Deleting the posts will not help, they are backed up along with the rest of the site on a regular basis now. It matters not how well you think you have covered your tracks, the fact remains that the data is easily traced back to you. Why buy a 100+Gb plan if you can hide your data usage on a 10Gb plan. If this is so easily done and hidden and untraceable, why are there not countless posts on forums everywhere telling people how to stick it to their ISP, for if your flawed method actually worked this would likley be the case, especially in the case of how to stick it to Telstra. RipOffTelstra.com nope it would seem the site does not exist even though the link works. Plenty of sites complaining of Telstra ripping people off and even a few people now being fucked in the arse for trying to rip off Telstra. You will find similar results regardless of the ISP. While using a proxy server or VPN grants somewhat a level of anonimity and security, I can tell you from experience that these methods will still count toward your data usage and therefore are completely traceable by the relevant authorities, though it will take them longer to trace the data path, this only serves to piss of the authorities further and make them more determined to find and exterminate you with extreme predjudice under threat of maximum deletion. You may be interested to know that even long after you are dead, almost any of your relatives can get access to all your private e-mail accounts including all emails sent/received even deleted ones for the previous seven years in most cases and even longer in others where the data is still in storage, all they need to prove for this is that you are dead and that they are/were in some way related to you, For example an ex-girlfriend may gain access simply by showing that you had a defacto relationship at some point ie: social security records from 5 years ago and a copy of your death certificate. A few sheets of paper work is all it takes. Virtuoso, You may want to consider moving to a country that does not extradite people to any other country as the global authorities tend to find ways around these legal loop holes, placing back dated peddo files on your computer to make the legalities easier and obtain a conviction for anything they can etc. I would suggest buying a boat and moving to international waters however it is far too easy for the authorities to find and capture or hopefully kill you there, unless that is of course, you use the same method of procurement for the boat as you do your internet. Now Virtuoso and others who may have thought that my previous post regarding the cybercrime act was a load of shit here is the link go read it for yourself. http://www.comlaw.gov.au/ComLaw/Legislation/ActCompilation1.nsf/framelodgmentattachments/34ACC0548529E446CA256F7100560113And if you thought the info in the earlier post was fucked up wait till you get a load of some of these other sections. 478.2 Unauthorised impairment of data held on a computer disk etc. (1) A person is guilty of an offence if: (a) the person causes any unauthorised impairment of the reliability, security or operation of data held on: (i) a computer disk; or (ii) a credit card; or (iii) another device used to store data by electronic means; and (b) the person intends to cause the impairment; and (c) the person knows that the impairment is unauthorised; and Penalty: 2 years imprisonmentYou may get off lightly yet if you go grab a drill or angle grinder and take to those hard drives early, turn them into scrap metal, and place remnants near strong magnetic feilds, it will be too late when the Feds arrive. Here are some other documents you may wish to find and familiarise yourself with if your up for a little light reading. Australian Security Intelligence Organisation Act 1979 Telecommunications Act 1997. Criminal Code Act 1995 Alternatively phone a decent lawyer tell them what you have been up to, ask their advice for the future, it will probably be something along the lines of .... STOP BREAKING THE LAW ASSHOLE !!! |

| is that real? lol
hey tropp i understand its a serious offence i do cover my tracks pretty good when doing these sorts of security checks on servers , thats all they are, integrity checks to make sure my servers are secure from outside influences and attacks.
My IP address isnt ever the original IP address i use its always route to other peoples houses then through a vpn and sometimes a server.
lol bucket i doubt that was me, although that is my email thats being advertised o.O
Plus who would use a script to make a virus? thats just lame, its much more convenient using c++ to wreack havoc or keylog and send the inputs to an email lol.
Hell even using HTML to exploit its much more convenient. |
