We changed it online just now 60$for regular 150gb $20no contract speed pack for 500G $10 extra what we were paying.

All optus gotta do now is unlock their down and upstream channels we could be getting about 3x / 4x uploads and 1.5 - 2.5 x downloads if they unlock it, then the NBN would gtfo

true, they will be more reliable then any other ISP.
but if optus unlocked all their stream channels, the NBN wouldnt know how to compete with it, not saying optus will ever though : /

I got my 500g but my speed pack hasn't kicked in yet, I called them twice and they keep saying sure it will be done in 2 hours, nothing yet.

I went from 50 to 200gb recently and that's been huge enough for me lol, for now lol

im getting 19mb/s down and 0.45 mb/s up without speed pack... so many people are calling optus it seems that some of their services have gone haywire abit, their new plans might be abit overkill for their infrastructure, nonetheless i want my speedpack >:L

Id highly recommend going with optus + speedpack, of what i know its fastest speed in aus ATM.

Got it working if you have a router Virt and when IT Optus reset your modem ip connect it directly t your pc not through router, that's what my problem was, the previous IT workers didn't mention the router.

i do, but i changed my plan and they forgot to apply it on the new one :S

i got no router connected between my pc and cisco modem...they said ive got speed pack applied but its not showing up... ill give it a day for it to work if not, ill give them a call again.

wait so your getiing complete 19MEGABYTES not MEGABITS download right? because my lines are fibre optic..would they make a difference in terms of speed?

fiber optic and HFC would make differences in terms of consistency and stability, i max downloads at 12 MB/S (100ish mb/s with speedpack) and 19mb/s *mbits without speedpack. however sometimes on speedpack my download goes to 70-80mb.s which is still pretty good


if i had the choice of going fiber id do it in a blink of an eye, its more reliable then HFC imo.
in regards to speed thats ISP side, nothing to do with the lines, but the stability would be atleast 1.5x better then HFC.

I Was considering having another line (teaming) but Optus only allow one line per house, and since ive got home phone with optus i cant get ADSL here, either because its not telstras infrastructure or because i dont live in their "port range" -.-
