I would never buy the game, but I downloaded it and found a working crack and that didn't happen when I started.

I hate FO3 intensely but I think this game is going to be good, just story and setting wise. I will probs form an opinion when I get to play more of it

Well you can aim-down-sight in new vegas and that was a big killer for me in FO3. Also I think FO3 tried a bit to hard to be gritty and realistic and I think New Vegas understands the entire fallout setting is ridiculous and it goes with it (ceaser's legion etc).

+ the creators of the original fallouts were involved and everyone always says that the originals are good so I figured its worth trying

I thought FO3 was awesome, should have been a bit more to the story but other than that its pretty sweet. I like the fact that it was realistic and gritty, for the fact that its more realistic (duh). You can actually believe that something like that would happen and that the world could really be like that. But thats just my opinion.

its not a review and that is why they dont mention coding, graphics, ect. Im not going to judge the game till I play it but a couple of people I've spoken to havent seen any bugs.

I thought Fallout 3 and the DLCs were alright but wasn't looking forward to New Vegas, like Dessicrater said it looked very similar but I've got a cracked copy I'll get around to playing.

I have played a bit of it and it does have slight bugs, but not the kind mentioned in any articles I have read.

The engine is terrible and laggy and it seems to crash every time I fast travel to a big city but overall its an ok game.

Not worth buying though.

Yea the engine from oblivion is very...finicky, it's like everything must be exactly right or the whole thing can come crumbling down...one another note, heres the vid of oblivion done on the crysis engine! There was pics put up a while ago and someone mentioned it should have been done for oblivion too.

oblivion stock still has better atmosphere.. you gotta tweak the shit out of crysis to get it to actually look amazing. something about the atmosphere in the oblivion engine kicks ass, and i dont think fallout utilizes it very well.

he really put the effort into getting the atmosphere though, which seems to be the hardest thing for people to get right in the sandbox. heres another shot of the forest scene from the cryengine 3 example from way back, which is what the next oblivion needs to look like:

but you'l notice the trees and shit in the distance still look poo. getting this level of quality in an open world environment like oblivion is where the next big-name games will have to go. regardless of how good it is crytek have taken a step backwards, i don't know who to look to for the next great graphics games. maybe you can help out Wounded, as everywhere i look for crysis screenshots ends up back to your posts on GON

well its a powerful engine for its time, I think the bloom effects in the game gives it that character thats missing from that oblivion to crysis video, it all seems to crisp, whereas the original engine added some slight haze to the enviroment. The level of detail though is alot higher though.

I don't know trae, if anything Crytek have done wonders for the gaming industry, pushing the boundaries of computers. Cryengine 3 isnt so much a revolution in games engines, its more a redefined engine from what I understand. They are making it more accessible to a wider range of computer systems while still tweaking the graphics to get the best look out of what they have to work with. I dare say that there is another engine in development by crytek, considering the size of the company, they would have a sizable chunk derived to research and development for new graphical features.

yeah i hope so, i guess we will find out once crysis 2 gets out on pc.

I know, I really wish they would make a new Elder Scrolls. I never got into Fallout 3, I didn't find the bland environment exciting (not to mention the stupid VATS thing, where is the fun in that), whereas just exploring in Oblivion gave you a feeling I haven't felt from games in a while.
