| Hey, I currently have a 19 inch monitor which is in perfect working order that I want to replace. It has a maximum resolution of 1280 by 1024. Anyway, the reason that I want to replace or get another primary monitor is that I find that the 19 inch does not have enough space. Also, lets be honest, its about time I went wide screen.. What I am looking for is a decent 22 - 23 inch gaming monitor. Umm I don't know much about monitors. I talked to Firefly about a 30 inch monitor that he has. He said that it made a whole lot of a [bad] difference to his gaming. He went from a resolution of 1680 x 1050 to 1920 x 1050. I didn't really want a high definition monitor either way so if anyone can recommend or has a link to a good, new 1680 x 1050 monitor then that would be awesome. Umm I don't want to worry about price at the moment, I just want to know what is good for now. Thanks in advance. Links to the purchase location of these monitors would also be awesome |

| I use BenQ's , low price and I think they are good. A few friends use them too I think a 24" is about $250 ? need to double check that shit, but its HDMI and DVI and good n all. mine are 22" they are alright for me, $250 2 years back now I believe. www.allneeds.com.au is where i got mine www.msy.com.au should be similar Talk to Trae about monitor calibration as well, that helps alot. I'm sure he posted something about that here somewhere ages ago. |

| If ur looking for a new monitor and u don't have a budget atm. I would recommend a LED monitor. much better then ur average LCD picture is crystal clear, less power usage, and better in most ways tbh |

| depends on your budget. id recomened the samsung px2370, the benq g2220hd. go for the 1080, will be good for movies. the benq is sick as. a 30 inch monitor with a 1080 resolution is a fuckin joke, everything would look bad on that. take that same resolution and cram it into a 22inch monitor and you've got awesome.
if cost isnt an issue the dell u2711 but with a native of 2560x1440 its obviously going to rape your video card for gaming. as far as value for money and quality is concerned id go with the benq.
personally i get dell 2209wa's and u2410's because i require the extra colour but you gotta be about to see the difference for it to matter. |

| Hmm I just really want what is best for gaming. If 1080p is good for competitive gaming then I am fine with that. I wouldn't really use my computer for movies, have a TV in the living room for that. I have always liked the Benq 2220HD. Guess that would be my most likely choice.
I'm not to concerned about the price of a new monitor at all at the moment. If it suits my needs then I am willing to pay that little extra I guess. Does a 24 inch monitor have the same height as a 19 inch 4:3 monitor?
If I do get a monitor and I decide to use my 19 inch as a secondary, I had a problem before with when I had two 19 inch monitors, both the same, hooked up to my video card. Sometimes when playing games, it would be like a still image of the game was taken, like a screenshot and then it would appear on my secondary :S |

| height will depend on the monitor and its stand/adjustability.
any kind of dual screening can fuck up a game to the point of crashing your computer. i went single monitor just to play metro2033 (took me a fortnight just to figure out thats what it was though).
dual screening is for After effects, professional photoshop, 3D programs, final cut, and people who like to have movies on one screen and msn on the other xD
if your serious bout dualscreen though its important that you get two identical monitors as close together off the production line as possible. differences can cause the backlights to burn out to different hues and it will suck balls. |
