The quality of build in a Ford is far more value for money. Take the lastet V8 models Holden GTS LS3 6.2Lt 317kws VS Ford FPV 315 5.4Lts looking at the power specs hmmm... for 6.2lts Holden could only squeeze out 3kws more lol and that's with a bigger engine, Holden FTL.

Well the LS3 was detuned for the aussi market because both holden & Ford are trying to keep power levels under 320kw to keep the pollies happy. That engine is good for 350kw with the right tune. As for the ford 5.4 it is badly cobbled together peace of shit. They fucked up a real good engine (the 4.2L quad cam engine ) because Ford did not think a 4.2L would sell against Holden's then 6L, so they cobbled together the 5.4L out of parts (mostly from lite tuck v8 parts bin) to up the size. Trouble is, to get that size they had to use a crank /rod combo (ie long stroke, short rod) that fucked its ability to rev hard, so totally wasting the quad cam top end. The 4.2L is good for 350kw and at 7500rpm to. a much better engine. Just some useless info for ya.

Well, White I have raced cars and as a matter of fact My brother still races a 3.8 ltr VT Commodore at 60 yrs of age & holds the race record around Wannaroo in the HQ class to this day so crawl into you own little PC fantasy & HARDEN THE FUCK UP

LOL White when all said and done the tech that gets used in the V8 supers to a degree is implemented in the street cars we drive as our day to day runners, it's all a load of BS i agree with you, the V8 super car series should be dumped & go back to the original format of production cars racing as per the Bathurst 24hr race. Also you will fined that there is not much head room left with that engine for more power unless you fit a charger! Bottom line, long stroke bottom end good for torque.(only if you have Big capacity witch the boss has'nt) No good for top end power. So what do Ford do, they fit a top end designed for Big Big revs 6500-8500 that the bottom end can't make, Fail Ford. I have bean building race engines for more than 20yrs and im telling ya this is a shit combo, and it has nothing to do with the hole holden v ford bullshit cause im only into Horse power and don't care who makes it.

This is the same as mine, only mine has longer and curved ram tubes, should get it buy end of next week. Its going on a 5L holden, Roller cam, my heads, 4 bolt main Group A block, forged pistons etc. should be good for at least 460 - 480 Hp. My last one made 455 hp with only a flat tappet cam std group a manifold.

Ok ok So best bet is to replace the bottom end up with quality parts and then S/C?? I was just gonna buy the kit and install, head roll into to JSM tune her up @ 9 PSI and be on my way, a project that would cost me around $ 9000. Ill take youe advise on board Arny.... Ill do some research on the bottom end, Capa are telling me it will be fine but its a car I wanna keep and well yes rev hard when it comes time!

If holden don't cooperate with you, can always try consumer affairs and they may be able to fuck them up for ya.
