| the monsters seem to move quiet retardedly, like the animator got lazy or had to rush to meet a deadline.
i mean look at the way they gamble along like retards, and when that big retarded thing 'jumps' up into some space overhead when hes in that parking garage or whatever, it more like lags out and just levitates vertically rather than having a proper jumping animation followed by grabbing onto the roof or whatever..
if half the shit youre looking at doesnt behave in a way to convince yourself that its real, then there goes half the atmosphere. at least with zombies its easy because you dont have to animate much - just a slow walk, eating brains, and dying. |

| love scary games!!! and its hard to tell from previews how good a game it really going to be, until you play it. I think this is one to add to the collection of fear, dead space and those games alike. I'm looking forward to playing it on my setup.

| Playing this one now..just started and yeah I like it. With all the visual candy it really hacks at your GPU (gtx 260 at 25fps avg). I recommend it to anyone!! |

| So I've been playing it a bit, using Russian voices to get the atmosphere right, and hardcore difficulty. I dropped the difficulty getting topside because all those jumping creature things had be cornered in one part and I just ran out of ammo trying to drop them, medkit myself, and with my gasmask breaking like a bitch. But up until that point I noticed I was physically feeling sick. This tends to happen for me on games with a tiny arse Field of View. In BC2 my desired FoV is 120degrees and I enjoy that. the standard 90degrees is too small and makes me feel hunched over and my back starts to hurt because I start doing that. Also you can see shit to your left and right. Google revealed apparently the default in Metro 2033 is 45degrees. No wonder, so here's how to change it: originally saw it here: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1192986 - Quote :
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1209062 The Default FOV is 45. The highest possible FOV is 90. The lowest possible FOV is 1. I have done increasing values of 5 for the field of view to show as many different possibilities without having to do a lot of work.
To change your Field Of View you will need to edit two config files. These two config files can be found in the locations as follows.
\User\AppData\Local\4A Games\Metro 2033\user.cfg
The AppData folder is hidden by default, to show this folder you will need to go to Tools -> Folder Options... -> View tab -> Mark the circle next to Show hidden files, folders and drives.
\Steam\userdata\XXXXXX\43110\remote\user.cfg
The X's are to signify a number that is specific to your Steam account, there should(Unless you have multiple accounts) only be one folder in the userdata sub-directory.
Edit Note: At 90 FOV, didn't check above 75 FOV, you can see graphical distortions at the bottom left hand side of the screen when holding the combat knife. This can be slightly annoying and distracting. I would suggest trying to stay at 60-75 for this for best results in performance and atmosphere. To much FOV and you find yourself looking through a fish eye lens.
There is also another user.cfg file in the game directory where you installed it, so I changed that too. Also apparently you have to set it to readonly for the changes to stay. Setting it to 75 for now and see how that goes. EDIT: Changed it to 65 |

| weak, very meagre...piss poor story, too easy to beat (On hard or insane or whatever was the hardest) ok graphics not enough modification for weapons, no multiplayer aspect, not enough scary parts (were there any?!?!) & no replayability. Didnt find this game up to standards for me to like. |

| I think STALKER is better. And FEAR. Just about to finish metro, aren't any scary parts, is annoying though with librarians not consistently dying with the damage dished out on them.
Has a few cool things about it and does alright for some immersion. |

| you're not really meant to engage the librarians.
and metro shits all over stalker. not that theyre really comparable. metro is based on the original metro2033 book and the game follows it pretty damn well. |

| Audi R8 please Stalker is a longer game, the movement is too slow though, I was annoyed at how slow it was to track around the map. Can't say I really rate either that great. |
