hey boys, just wondering how much it would cost to repair a laptop screen these days.

my sister dropped her laptop and now theres a few large cracks on it with weird as blue shit on everywhere.

its a macbook white 13.3 inch

just wondering how much it would cost and anyplaces its cheap. preferably in melbourne.

i looked around and the cheapest ive found is 600bux which is too much imo

im suprised anyone would even be able to fix that?

apple support does it but they charge up to 1400 which is more then the laptop cost. she doen't want to buy a new one as shes out of money atm. and 600 is still too much for screen repairs.

its just that the new lcd screen costs so much

use the applecare if its still valid, did you buy it direct or from a reseller?

it sounds like the lcd is fucked and the only real solution is to get a new screen.

you could try ebay mate, i had to buy a new screen for my laptop and it was only $150 including postage. This was a 13.3 inch for a sony vaio, but then again apple is more expensive for like everything.

bought it from a reseller. and the screens are fkn expensive for mac. about 400

yeah try ebay, and there should be a few tutorials on the net on how to install it

installing it is a piece of cake, its idiot proof lol.

If it wasnt a apple it wouldnt been easyr to repair, i havent got experience replacing them but i have dissable laptops and screen is piece easy to replace.
Good luck trying to find a cheap fix.
Note to self never buy apple notebooks.

macbook pro's are great. Macbook whites are known to have fragile screens.

Do it yourself as well. it will be the cheapest alternative. There will be forums etc etc on the net on how to remove the screen anyways

LOL Charlie , well i dont mind them but just hate the fact that people thing they are the greatest just because they are apples, fucking brand whores. Just watch out went u dissamble it to be very careful and have the right tools, dont do shortcuts because it will backfire on you. Trust me lol.

may as well get the surgical blade out and start carving out a kidney, as thats what it'll cost to repair a mac.

yeh just purchased the screen from the site charlie mentioned. pretty cheap for 130bux. hopefully everything works out fine
