OK first off my brother has some problems with his computer. When playing a movie, he gets stutters in the video when he does other things on the computer. Thinks as small as copying an image set it off. It causes the movie audio generally to keep going (with a stutter), but the video does some strange stuff like blending through itself, looking like it has artifacts and simply stopping. His computer also rattles in an insanely annoying way.

He has:

4GB DDR2 1066
AMD Ohenom 9950 (2.6GHz quad core)
32bit Win7 build 7100
ATI 4870
MA790GP-DS4H (mobo)

Secondly, i know some of you are running the win7 RTM. Can you post a reliable torrent link here for me?

Cheers

Earz

For the rattling I would check that there isn't a screw loose anywhere inside the case and also tighten all of the ones still in. Also check the CD-DVD drive and check there isn't a piece of paper or something in there.

um try updating vid drivers and restarting. Plus make sure that enough power is getting to the gpu, ie that the psu is working properly.
That and download a codec pack with the lastest stuff, and use vlc player because it rules

Hes definately has all the latest codecs, and it happens with VLC too. We think the rattle is from his cpu fan which is slightly off. Ill check his video drivers.

I'd follow Tulzers advice then and check the power supply. Either that or get a new GPU and see how that works out. GTX 295 should do it and grab one for while your at it.

Hey Ears

I have a 4870, ATI gpu's are the most energy efficient cards on the market, most of the time the computer has bsod or crashed and that is massive power saving..

Try using your tv for watching video, strange but kind of good..
