i wasnt planning on buying the game for the MP and thats just completely put me off. Matchmaking can work with dedicated servers (i.e. l4d) but running off shitty home games doesnt work and basically defeats the point of playing on PC. definitely a torrent for me

If you torrent it you can play over something called G Arena. And itll be no different to "legit" MW2 because theyll all be locally hosted servers. Bonus is you get it for free.
