| There a worse system to use than any regular PC lappy. just buy a monster of a laptop for 1500 matching the spec of the MAC and then burn the rest of the money outside the MAC store to show them what steve jobs couldn't get, only thing to do. |

| Or Logic Trae.
As I can tell, there are 2 options. Only 2 because I'm not selling you my mac.
1. Apple fixes the prices so that no matter where you buy it, within a country, it should be the same price. Look at iPod prices for example. It's then the software that you can get bundled with it where the savings are made. Also, try to get one with Leopard on it rather than Snow Leopard. That way, you get Snow Leopard for free, and you can wait until any compatability issues are worked out with the dropping of support for PPC processors.
2. Hackintosh.
Why not get the 13" MBP? |

| 3. Because MAC owners are generally idiots, you should be able to steal one fairly easily. |

| buy a windows laptop take the graphics card out and sell it on ebay. no gaming problem solved.
macs too overpriced anyway. like trae said final cut is the only reason you'd want a mac for.
but the 13inch cost 1899 so youd probz wanna go for that one 2inches won't make much difference if its just for uni right? 800bux difference is alot |

| get a 7 / 8.9" or 13 / 14" little laptop with a tiny harddrive and barely any power to run anything other than word.
probably cost most $500 to $700 and you wont be able to do anything but work, or play solitaire..
HP make good mini's, as do Dell otherwise theres Acer and a few other brands are getting in on it, but i like HP's |

| Once you have decided to buy your emotions start to take over, It would be almost impossible to change your mind at this stage, You have entered the "Must buy Stage" its almost like a drug and the need to spend is like an addiction.
Steve Jobs understands this, Marketing folk world wide understand this, you are now a poor little consumer with no real way of deciding anything and will follow the path of least resistance to your habit. |

| Negative. A Consumer, yes I am. But i must mention that I never indulge myself with these necessities. If it's going to be a 1 off. In the purposes of study and further academic/career needs. Its worthless buying a cheapy and paying for a damm upgrade. Imac are sensible in a sense for they do not support most games, as most games are compatible only with the Windows Operating Systems.
"get a computer with no GC" lol... might as well buy those shitty lil laptops that fukin take 10mins to load. I need it to be efficient.
I choose mac pro because its available on a payment plan interest free terms. The notion of games being non compatible, 13inch versatile for its power. The simplicity of its OS system. It's dimensions and sheek design. It is apparent that they are more prone to virus/infections.
It is also fixed in my mind that this is a motivational tool. Personal need of self indulgence.
I rather a BMW than a Suzuki. |

| Oh I think you missed my point Charlie.. It is not a choice you can make.. i understand your reasoning for selecting the macbook, my point was that once you had decided there is no going back.. http://www.business.aau.dk/wp/08-20.pdf |

| mmmm well if you worry about OS then put linux in you lappy, MAC OS is a derivative of unix which is pretty much linux anyway. Tablet lappy + linux FTW, not saying apple are shit because they are good for designing work ( like traes line of work). But i dont like them because is just paying for brand and what you get for the price you can get yourself something alot suprerior. |

| ^^ once again ill point out that macs are NO better then PC's for design, i use PC's for ALL my design work because they can do so much fuckin more, the edit suites that use macs have to get us to do shit for them because their shitty 20k macs cant handle shit. ONLY reason to run one is final cut. i still have no fucking idea where this mentality of macs being better for ANYTHING comes from ITS A MID-RANGE PC WITH A FUCKED UP OS SEALED IN A SOLID CASE OF ALUMINIUM SO YOU CANT CHANGE THE PARTS. |

| 1) you dont need to put a PC to sleep 2) you dont need to turn a PC off. 3) quality parts don't mean shit, if you build your PC out of shit parts your an idiot and you should own a mac. 4) blinking lights tell you WHEN SHIT IS OR ISNT WORKING. 5) OSX is only needed for Final Cut. 6) They may be easier to 'troubleshoot' BUT GOOD LUCK TRYING TO FIX THE CUNT. 7) Like there isn't software for windows?? more "useful" apps? Yeah you can like, use the webcam to take photos of you and write notes and other shit windows can't handle. 9) neat and contained system settings? You've got to be kidding me, what kind of benefit is that. Who the fuck has trouble finding system settings in windows?? 10) Doesn't load the system up with crap? BULLSHIT, YOU JUST DONT SEE IT BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT RUNNING LITTLESNITCH. 11) "other reasons" - why this whole article is stupid 12) No need for security? This is because macs arent worth hacking, because noone (5%?) uses them. 13) thats not even a reason 14) guess what, i run photoshop CS4 64bit FLAWLESSLY, and i get A BACKGROUND WINDOW, and i can use DDS plugins, like to see you do that on a mac. 15) fire sharing is "easier"?. I work for 9 hours a day off the main graphics hub, both of which run windows and we never have a problem. But the edit suites, which are mac pros, have to use a NAS to get anything between them because if you connect them directly they fuck the shit out of each other. also note at the end he lists reasons why MAC sucks. then states its simply in his experience that he has less problems with a mac. Probably because he can't do anything on it that would be problematic. |
