you guys ever think bout putting FTW server on the old crysis

I actually thought about doing that today, also thinking about making my own patch for crysis.
The only problem with doing that is no one will use a unofficial patch, might do it anyway.

There was a community patch project before wars that you might want to check out. Just have a look through crymod to find it.

I would love to see the server back to the old crysis. It was twice the game that WARS will ever be. I am 100% behind wounded's post. I would quit, except I am a loser with nothing else to do. Neways back to the point, the old crysis ruled. That game we all had the other nite was the most fun I have had from crysis since about two days after WARS came out and I was over it. I

Plus it's not as if we would be missing out on the Player number pie, as WARS was a separate install, not an upgrade, its just a matter of starting Crysis original and playing.

The only time I play now is when Quacks wants to test some new goodies, I'll jump on and mess around - At the moment Wars is bodged, everyone knows it, its just like Crytek doesnt. So I'll just be doing the guinea pig rounds with quacks (sexual innuendo intended) on the test server till Crytek gets their fucking act together.

wounded i couldn't agree anymore mate. wars FTL. vanilla would b good to go back to. the prob is, r people going to go back other than FTW and prob =AoS=. coz not much people had vanilla (well not as much as wars anyway). if alot of people would go back than that would b greate.

i think going back to vanilla, would be a FTW/serbz only thing. I seriously doubt that people would go back. Plus you need the computer to handle it, which everyone doesent have

they went back to the day of original Crysis "BETA" with the rocket flying at a million miles and hour but being completely inaccurate and killing infantry in 1 hit, the grenade launcher killing ppl in 1 hit, then they created another grenade launcher that shoots even faster and also kills in 1 go cause that totally what the community had always wanted, then if that wasnt enough they took the gauss rifle which is a prototype and stopped it from killing in 1 hit even tho its harder to hit someone with a gauss rifle then it is to kill someone with a stupid nade launcher.

the wall jump and strafe jumping(not everyone will agree), although the wall jump may have been a glitch i think it was upto the server admins on whether they wanted to have it as a kick or not, by removing the wall jump they have taken away a part of the game that made it unique, a part of the game where u cud have gone into a server by urself and still had some fun, a part of the game where u cud have had a bit of competition with some friends jumping to high places then using the original strafe jump to strafe to another building, having long jump competitions with other players, or using the wall jump to surprise someone who thinks they are in a good hiding spot(i know people dont agree with this) but its what made the game exciting and fun to play, they were both "MOVES" that every player could have learned and were rather easy to learn, but instead of keeping this in the game they made it more streamlined like any other game, restricting the whole "PLAY HOW YOU WANT TO PLAY" and more like "PLAY HOW EVERY OTHER PLAYER PLAYS" and they also increased the fall damage, jump off a building now and ur pretty much screwed, it used to be awesome that u cud fall from a great height land on a rail and that you would survive this, another great thing about the game that made it unique, some might say "this is unrealistic" but how many games out there are completely realistic, sh*t in almost every game u can carry around 2 weapons and switch from 1 to the other in a split second, that certainly sounds realistic to me, yet no1 complains because they dont have to learn it to do it, its just a push of the button or a scroll on the wheel. no1 seems to mention the fact that in the very first level in original crysis u fall from a massive height into water which obviously no1 would survive yet this is alright because you have been told that the nano suit will take the impact, so everyone turns a blind eye to that, yet other things that are unrealistic that you may have to learn or takes a bit of skill "nah stuff that lets remove that from the game because not everyone can be bothered learning it" but im sure u can ask the majority of the people that me and flubberguts taught how to do these things that they really enjoyed being able to do it and it added dimensions to the game that werent there before, again making the game unique and different from every other FPS out there.

im a massive fan of the Crysis series, yet Wars with its completely dumbed down and noobed out no skill gameplay, has completely pissed me off, and the patch they just released is so f*cking laughable. i hope they actually bring out a patch that does something to make this game more enjoyable, but i have certainly gotten tired of the game and am going to take a break until i see a patch that fixes some of the problems that wars currently has, no amount of Modding from server admins is gonna fix the fact that the game has been dumbed down, and the more mods the admins do the slower the server gets as it has to read the extra information.

i will still be an Admin for the CyberGamer ladder, but thats about the only place you will see me as im gonna take a break from Wars.

yes mate i agree with nearly everything u say.When serbs taught me to wall jump nthe proto i was the happiest noob alive it was fun shit an such a great battle tatic now i look up at water towers an think f..k i wish i could get up there but no like u say dumbed down.the only thing i like about wars [u might not agree]but now i can actully kill ppl an win games it feels great 4 me to finally be good at killing but i guess it is a bit more skill less .i enjoy the game more now cause of this but i so miss alot of the old crysis.i think what u say is spotr on.ppl like me get more kills ppl like u just get bored of killing .please dont stray from the game though mate its always good to see u owing an such a thrill to go against u .see u in my sight s soon we hope.

Couldn't agree more wounded. I actually was a half decent player at crysis and when i came across to wars it seemed to be to easy to be killed.

I think by the number of people who still play wars, everyone feels the same. I bagged wars pretty much from the start, and almost everyone outside of the FTW clan bagged me, said I was wrong, and that so many more people were playing wars cos its such a superior game. The reason more people started off playing wars was

1. PC's could meet the minium specs more easily (not that they could probably actually play it as the game plays wrose than the original)

2. The game was purchaseable on steam


The first game, was FAR superior. It still had players in it after 8 months of it release, because it had skills that took 3 - 4 months to achieve. Wars has less numbers now, and it has been out 2 months. Even the most dedicated fans of the game have gone. Crytek claim they changed the game to meet fans requests. I dont think I have seen it once suggested anywhere, "make weapons have no spread and no recoil, and make machines cheaper to buy". In fact, all I have ever seen is the opposite. Patch 1.2 was there last chance to make amends, but they couldnt put anything together. Dont mean to be offensive here, but the entire wars game was the greatest fuckup crytek could have made and there paying for it now.

i got into crysis because i got a speccy new quad core with decent graphics ( Nvid 8800GT ) and many a ram and also lots of memory ( =P ), and wanted something to push it


so i 'obtained' the first crysis n played i through n thought; "wow this game looks pretty good i bet multiplayer would better" and then i found out they were going to release an expansion/standalone follow up. then i realised i was reading a year old article and Warhead was already out and actually cost less than the original

"LOL wtf crytek messed up, this new one seems way better and costs less! im buyng dis shit"

so i obtained it over the counter and and installed it, and spent an hour remembering my game spy ID, making a new one, working out why it wouldnt accept my password still, many things until i could actually log in

me (like it'd be anyone else) : " OH WOW theres servers with so many people! "


i join a 24/7 battlegrounds map and think " FUCK ME DEAD SLOWLY THIS IS LIKE A 24/7 TANKWARS LOL I GUESS THATS WHAT THE SERVER WAS CALLED AYE " and got raped massively as Nomad (7) out of the 18 Nomads..

my first few questions were:

"LOL WHY SO LAGGY?"

"LOL HOW DO I CHANGE MY NAME?"

"seriously guys how do i?.. oh wait i worked it out silly me, its like every other fps"

"LOL WHATS A REPAIR TORCH DO AND HOW CAN I GET IT OUT?"

"LOL WHY DO I DIE SO FAST N KILL NO ONE"


then i worked out that that number under the universal computer symbol did indeed symbolise what it does always - ping, and that lower ping is a gooooood ping =D

so i joined a bunch of servers with low ping, firstly an internode one and thought

'what the fuck is this shit where are the guns and why are there only jeeps, whats power struggle? screw this imma go back to lagggy server'


skip a bit ahead and i joined more Internode and FTW and enjoy the lag free 1:10 K/D ratio as i struggle to make it to sargeant...
and repeatedly get owned by people with 50:2 K/D..


..fast forward several months and i can actually kill people sometimes though i still miss alot, i pretend im everyones favourite puppy, and what used to be 6 full aussie servers (or something like that) is now barely one. and its some shit EA one.. shit like game arena..

at least internode had active admins back then as well


yet i still enjoy the game.
the only reason ive slowed down now is no one is on FTW much anymore because they join EA or GameArena, or have stopped altogether.


i still enjoy the game.


EDIT: i now also suck up to quacks and all the FTW guys because they suck and i can rape them any time especially with vtols, nades, and a sniperrifle. i then abuse / flirt with every other player until they learn to love me or get offended, and whenever i kill someone i stand for five minutes typing long sentences gloating before i get run over or punched to death..

crysis 2 will hopefully see a turn around, i used to own wounded in the oiginal crysis you ask him, he couldnt destroy me me he could only just beet me, back wen charlie had no idea wat a positie score is
