| I was think the same thing today sgt. I think 7.1 is overkill though. And it begs the question on whether your hardware has 5.1/7.1 support. Or do you have a sound card?
Boots what did you get recently and hows it going? |

| yea i got the medusa nx gaming headset, its great but i do need a soundcard to experience the hole shimozle, 7.1 is the logitech g35 if my memory serves, 7.1 is a fail in headsets, to little room for such a large sound studio, you wont be able notice the difference from the rear to the side properly. stick with 5.1. if you google reviews most forums say that. and razer are meant to be good but if you got the dosh maybe seinhiezer<<<<(cant spell would i will get carts to translate for me). model PC350, nice!!! |

http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/gaming/pc_gaming/headsets_microphones/devices/5095&cl=us,en I got the logitech G35. They have mint sound quality and the bass is just totaly fuken awsome. Its only virtual 7.1 but it does 1 hella good job. It almost sounds like true 7.1. The loudness is not extreme but loud enough for explosions to rattle your brain. Very good build quality and they are sooooo comfy because the ear peace goes over your whole ear so no more sore ears after watching hours of porn. It is USB so does not require a sound card. Also includes cool voice morphing |

| Ahh i see. So that's where you got it from. Well i already have a 7.1 sound card. I'd thought i use it in there. But it seems that its usb. But is it also the other cords as well? |

| The Razer Megalodon is also USB so it won't utilize a sound card at all either.... I have the same headset as Lilboots and I love it... (I actually told him about it). I am on my second one from this group (had the earlier version). It is only 5.1, but 7.1 is overkill for gaming and this sounds fucking awesome! It does require a sound card though as it does use 4 plugs for 5.1 and one USB port (for power). They are unbelieveable and have a site you can order from in Oz and have shipped in a matter of days. http://www.medusa-australia.com/ |

| See the problem i have is that i have a 7.1 sound card. I also have 5.1 speakers. I lose sound to 1 of my speakers because of this and cant get nice 5.1 like i use to in my old comp. I've variated with plugging it here and there. still a loss to one of the speakers.
So having said that. 7.1 would be great so that i can use my card to its capabilities. But then again it uses usb. I'm looking into getting it.
Nappy boy doesn't seem to have any issues. Seen the pro's and con's. |

| After some research and comparo reviews i went for the Sennheiser PC350. Mainly cause i plan to upgrade my soundcard instead of using the onboard sound. The G35 is usb and only allows you to use onboard as it has its own drivers etc. Very happy with the PC350, just have to get used to talking and not hearing yaself lol.... Next buy is a super soundcard to get the top performance outa these puppies!! Cos. btw they retail for $300...i got em to discount em for me at JB to $250....it dont hurt to ask!! |

| yeh sennheiser takes the prize for some of the best headsets. athough their range is more in the headphones area. usually can find a good pair for cheaper if you look around a bit. but like cos said, do a bit of bargaining, jb-hifi will nearly always cut down on the price if its reasonable |
