Anyone knows how to use Trafic Shaper XP 1.21??

i got this to limit out net band, we just got capped after 15 days and we got 30gbs cap

fuking hell, this really pissed me off, i tried so hard to save the cap and my fuking bros just used the net as much as they can like im trying to steal it from them

seriosuly, help me with this, or if some of u guys may know any other solutions, please let me know, my router is Dlink DI-534, pretty old so it doesnt have a built in limiter

I want to use my computer to monitor every internet traffic of the whole LAN network, in case someone hacks our wireless, and yeh, limit the upload and download speed as well

None of them have built in limiters, only a few rare models, and unless you make YOUR computer the router there is NO way of limiting their bandwidth short of disabling QoS on their computers in their network settings. Espcially if they are using the wireless, you can't limit what they use. A few of the internode guys use a little program which continuously tracks your usage, i got that because i blew 7gig in an afternoon simply by leaving my art gallery open with a flash gallery that DIDNT image cache.

I've since been trying to find a way to limit the wireless on my router as when someone on the wireless requests ANY bandwidth it gives them priority, lagging me out of crysis and the only way i can restore the bandwidth is by reconnecting.


You should probably just seal their rooms and seep Co2 gas into them overnight.

you could do it by getting an ADSL modem ONLY (Bridge mode) and getting a spare pc and using that as a router then tacking a wireless access point on the other side.

Control your bandwidth through the router OS, prioritise traffic for wars and tell the brothers to lick your balls.

with some router OS's you can set download quotas as well, per ip/mac whatever.

If you are familiar with unix, then there are a large selection of free OS's out there to do the job

u could go and cut the cpu fan cord and fuck the laptop fans, may help

If you have access to their computers(like user access)...you can install the following program

It reduces the bandwidth that they are able to use...unfortunately it has to be installed on each computer, and costs about US$27 per license, but could well be money well spent if it saves you on the cap...

have you set your computer up as the wireless and ethernet access point and make sure all the wep codes and IP's are the same so they dont notice. this is assuming your computer is closest to the router.

If your capped on BP? Lower the MTU then change it back once your uncapped

LOL Go into your router (10.0.0.138) maybe its diffrent for you, and block all the shit they go to then change the password for the router.

Gwen seeing as you dont know much, download Cisco Network magic, im pretty sure they will do everything u need, you will need to download it as a torrent though, as the trial version wont cut it

When you're capped your MTU of 1500 (default) is way too high, this causes really slow and shitty speeds. If you want better speeds download TCP optimizer and use it to reduce your MTU to 576 (better suited for a 56-64kbps connection) as mentioned and you will see good improvements in speeds (actual 64kbps speeds). When you're uncapped reset the MTU to default.

Hang on what ISP are u with who gives 30kbs when capped? i thought all ISPs give a crappy 64kbps anyway so your capped at the moment, what is it u actually want to do? u want to monitor the usage from now on so your homo brothers dont download everything?

Optus, i reckon coz im using the highest cap so they gave us 30kb/s

5 computers connected, 3 wireless, 2 ethernet

router: D-Link DI524

30gb 1 month

i want to monitor and intercept any download or upload over 20kb/s, oh well, even better, limit the access to 30kb/s for each computer then ill release it in the last week of cap if we got gbs left so they can still download without making us capped
