and do a speedtest and post it here....just push the 'copy to forum button' in the results and paste here. This will be handy for people to see differnt ISP's performance if they are shopping round etc.

Its actually correct Shin lol.
The default setting for speedtest is megabits/sec.....which as you know 8 bits = 1 byte......thus if you divide your score by 8 you will roughly get your max dl speed in megabytes/sec = 3.4mbytes/sec?
If you go to settings at the top you can change the result to megabytes/sec and dist to km's and fav server etc.



This is my dl in megabytes/sec...

If you clicked on the thumbnail, you will see that my speed to the Sydney server was 6Mbit/s. A far cry from the 28Mbit/s from the Canberra server

Started the download afterwards to compare, coz i knew it'd give skewed results from the Syd server

as cosmic said, speedtest is in megabits/second, so you divide by 8 for your speed in magabytes/second
14/8 = 1.75MB/s which explains the speeds you actully get

157KB/s from my work connection lol same as home
So 1.5Mbps net connection...thats standard adsl speed now isn't it?

Edit: it really should do 160+ but they all have transfer speed loss through the lines so technically you'll achieve that speed infrequently
