| Yep Wounded and Trae win the thread by the looks of things! Thanks to everyone else for their help to. I will do a few more tests later on or tomorro to see if it is the RAM stick or if it is the slot. But it was the RAM. Again thanks everyone. _________________ |

| I find it very weird that no blue screens where showing when your ram failed. Normally when hardware fails the stop screen will appear, mine did anyway. My ram went a few months after building my system. I only run 2 gigs of HyperX now no more crashes and it took me a long time to figure it out by myself. Glad you know what it is now. Question is what ram will you be getting now? Im gonna get 4gigs OCZ reaper ram one day soon, heard thats tough ram. |

| Was gonna get some G-Skill. I need to know whether or not i need it all to be the same brand or just same frequency? I have 3gb RAM left atm. So there is no point in me getting more as i have switched back to Windows XP 32 Bit. When i switch to Windos 7 64 Bit, then i might get extra RAM. Though even 3gb seems to be more than sufficient at the moment. _________________ |

| cool Serbz. Yeah I just seem to scrape through with 2 gigs on 64bit vista only just playing crysis!!! | Quote: | | I need to know whether or not i need it all to be the same brand or just same frequency? |
my understanding is its better to get the same brand and of course same freq, I would get the same!
I wonder what killed ya ram ......mine I think was OC'ed to much and no voltage ajustment. Now mines locked in at 2.1volts at 975mhz i think. No worries at all now. Unless its ya mobo ram slot.
I also found it hard just to get one stick of 2 gigs, only sell single 1 gig or kits of 4gig 2x2. Not sure how you will go with finding 3gigs single stick of ram, if thats what ya after. Mite be the only option to 6gig kit. |
