hi im just wondering is all these parts will work well together and alo i still need to get myself a power supply so any suggestions will be great as this will be my first comp ill be building might make it next year im not sure yet

Motherboard

Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD4 X58

CPU

Intel Core i7 950 3.06GHz 8MB Cache 130W TDP Hyper-threading LGA1366

RAM

12GB DDR3 SDRAM

Graphics/video card

Nvidia GeForce GTX 285 2GB

Hard Drives

Western Digital 500GB 7200rpm SATAx2

im gonna be putting in some old DvD drives that ive got and fans and also heres the case i donno weather this matters or not but yeah

umm how many watts is the psu? must say 1tbs are much more bang for buck than 500gbs. well for me that is

Also i would look at getting the GTX295 insted of the 285 almost the same price and 1/2 as fast again.
Mate you mite also think of going for a i7 920 in place of the 950. U can OC the 920 to 3g no prbs and save some $$ for other stuff!

Corsair power supplies are the best. Look into that. This will be a very good set up base. im expecting another great player to emerge. Just don't forget who taught u minion! lol Razz

ok so to find out what power supply i need i just find out the wattages from all the parts and just add then together do i ?? and also there a huge differance in the prices of the CPUs around $750 fot the one i posted up there and $300 give or take some more so i think ill go with what arny said

i personally think thermaltake are the best psu, and also from reading reviews.

If you think you mite go with an SLI set up in the future get your self a 850w psu and try to get one with Two seperate 12v rails. As for which one is best if you do the the research you will finned that alot of the top brand psu's are made buy the same company. Just go for one with good quality jap capacitors, the above 12v rails, and a good cable system. Good psu's are not cheap so don't skimp on this area. Check out some from Xigmatek, Corsair, Thermaltake, and Antec. Read or look at some reviews.
