Internal Blu-ray burners Empty
PostSubject: Internal Blu-ray burners   Internal Blu-ray burners EmptySun Jan 02, 2011 2:07 am

I am on the lookout for a good internal Blu-ray writer/burner also....any you guys got one? Recommendations, linx etc. Have been looking at the LG BH10LS30 or the Pioneer BDR-205BK. Range from $100 up to $150 for both so far..
Cheers.

I have used sony/LG/asus and tbh i found the LG to be the best blu ray burner. never had any issues with it whatsoever. good quality burner's and they're speed tends to average a bit faster than the sony and asus ones and they burn discs just as stably.

haven't used pioneer BD burners however they're DVD burners haven't been that great for me

for a 25gb file at 2x speed. takes roughly 45-50minutes. i usually get it done withing 35-40 minutes on my computer however

you can burn at faster speeds. but I've found 2x to be the most stable for me. Up to you really

edit: 2x-4x depends on what type of file im burning.

Thx Syler, was leaning towards the LG anyway, they have come right down in price now. I have been chewing through the data since i got the 3D Sammy, got some great quality BD's from iptorrents and even piratebay! Just watched a good 3D docco called The Universe, 7 Wonders of the Solar system...right up my ally lol.
Found a good copy of Avatar 3D its SBS and 18Gb 62% done hahaha

Heres another question Syler, have you hired BD's from video store and burnt them to BD? I have DVDfab and read it will copy BD's even with copy protection....like dvdshrink!
Also am using PowerDVD 10, it can play 3D content Smile Is that what you use?

cheers,
Cos.

I have never rented BD's from video stores haha. never been to one tbh Very Happy. i usually download all my movies in BD and burn em onto discs with Roxio Creatpr 2011 or in the rare case ill chuck em onto my external HDD which is connected to my WD HDTV media player which supports 3D files in mkv format it's not full blu ray but it does the job when it doesn't work any other way

and yeh mate i use PowerDVD 10. works like a charm with no issues.

although SBS formats are the preferred ones as they tend to have less issues and such

I think I'll wait until a few more days until the roll over lol 50G for 3D movies is insane for my quota. As I've only got 100G for the month lol.

Well a new 3D release I'm anticipating is the legend of the guardian. It's already out on the Blu-Ray website, couldn't find a retailer that supplies it besides ezydvd.com.au, which release it 2 months after the Blu-Ray site releases it. Pretty pathetic.

I might need to upgrade my Cable plan lol and also buy a blu-ray burner. But having the hard copy tickles my fancy more.

With the Sammy Cos did you get anything via redemption? I bought mine in the promotional phase, Free Blu-Ray 3D player - new model and 4 free 3D Glasses, 2 USB rechargeable and the other two battery powered. + because they delivered it late, they sent me a 24inch LCD for free also lol - A happy customer.

I got the same deal as you Charlie just with 4 3D movies as well Very Happy. also in terms of blu ray movies. go for the SBS (side by side) releases as they end up being a helluva lot smaller than those huge releases. i grabbed a mates samsung, got two different versions of avatar blu ray, one 16gb the other 46gb. put the tv's next to each other and found absolutely no differences when watching it.

same sound quality same picture quality same experience

I downloaded a movie SBS. I think it's crap!

What player do you guys use for your computers. Unfortunately I still don't have an external device that can support 8-9G worth lol
