Yer mate i feel your pain. 5yrs or so years ago i had an accident at work which resulted in me tearing 35% of my knee cartlidge, snapping both my Anterior cruciate ligament and posterior cruciate ligament. Man it was the most pain i have suffered in my life and to make things worse i was alone in a remote part of an underground coalmine and had to walk (well crall almost lol) almost 1km to the phone for help. It put me off work for 4 1/2 months. I have broken a number of bones( leg included) but any thing to do with your joints is way more painful, hang in there and make sure you do your physio and get well soon ah!

well this morning i was cleaning the bedroom etc cause ben (Imba) comes home.. anyway i moved the bed in a different pos cause we painted the room and wanted a change.. anyway everything was fine then i was standing at the side of the bed reading somethign when i bent down to pick something up i heard a HUGE crack come from the side of my knee (was louder then my music). Dad tried to get me to move it but when i went to sit back down again it cracked again.. everytime i sit down i can feel it move

Fuck i screamed all bloody blue murder.. thank christ my dad was off work cause he took me to the docs.. he said a week off then go back and see him for an MRI but it might be longer then that.

I fell about 2m from a conveyor belt drive unit and landed with all my weight on my left leg and the floor was wet slippery mud on an angle so my leg below my knee when 45 deg to the side with the rest going straight down and yer "snapo". The worst part was trying to get my leg straight so i could get up and going to the phone, no iphones down the black hole lol.

Sorry to hear Kel. Im amazed at how many here have had knee issues. I just had my knee reco for a torn ACL and ruptured meniscus.

Were you rotating or twisting your knee at the time. That seems to be the general movement when ACL's go. Or a large lateral force as Arny had.
The Doc should of tried to straighten your leg with a bit of a tug to see if the ACL resists the movement. If not, then its torn. As wounded said your probably heading for the MRI.

How's yours going Bob, all healed yet? Mine still gives me shit, but that is mostly from the missing meniscus cartlidge that didn't take with the graft. Fucking faggots forced me back to work to early and i tore the graft, so they removed it altogether. Codine for the win lol.

Umm from what i remember i might of had a SLIGHT twist in my knee but nothing MAJOR.. he tried to get me to do some squats but i can barely even sit down without it causing pain. He said that ill probably have an MRI at the end of the week.. so here to getting drunk everynight

I shattered my elbow when i was 10, that was unbelievably painful, wasnt sure on the details cos i was 10 and i cant remember shit from that long ago.. but i do remember that i did it by jumping off a trampoline and then i remember while i was lying on the ground that my elbow did almost a 360 in its socket when i tried to move it hahaha

That sucks hey. I tore the lateral meniscis in my left knee at the start of last year. What's strange is that that injury normally happens when you bend and twist your knee. Mine happened when I was playing hockey. Running in a straight line and mid stride my knee locked and wouldn't straighten past 90 degrees. What had happened was the cartilage had torn and flipped over effectively locking my knee into place.

They were some crazy pain killers they gave me at the second hospital to get it straight. They gave me the same amount of the same drug to knock me out for the op 3 weeks later, by which time I was walking on it again.

After the op, I was on crutches for a month (no pressure on the leg at all), and then I wasn't allowed to run for another 4 months, not that I could.

The op was keyhole surgery and went quite well. My vertical jump isn't anywhere near what it used to be, but that could be because I didn't put a whole lot of effort into rehab, other than running, which I stopped after a few months.

Torn Achilles About 6 Yrs ago I thought someone had fired a .22 shot I actually heard it snap but apparently you do hear it when your Achilles goes,12 wks in a cast I got the cast off a week before my wedding haha it was touch & go if I would walk down the path of doom but I made it under my own steam on the day and still going strong(the marriage) the Achilles is ok to

you would hear most ligaments go pop, and so should other people around you as it is under high tension, when i tore my mcl people heard it from 15m away, followed by a shallow "ouch" from the crowd

yea that would suck, that would mean going under the knife, i was very lucky to get away with a grade 3 tear and not having to go under the knife.. you had to have surgery wounded?

yea it sucks, do you feel unstable on it, i find it with me i take it really eay now as im to scared to go back as stupid as i was

the second click may have been the cartialge flipping back into place. I could only put pressure on my once it had flipped back, about 2 weeks after. The same thing had happened to me before but we'd never been able to get it looked at while it was locked, because it would always flip back. You may find that they don't see anything on the MRI.

Yeah thats what i was saying to ben (imba) that i rekon the second click was it popping back into place but when im walking i can actually feel something moving in that spot..

Yeah Boots i feel unstable ALOT when im walking.. it feels like my knees gunna roll and im so shakey so im so scared to let go of the crutch. I haven't tried it with a shoe on yet so everywhere i have gone i have only had a sock on.. so maybe it'll make a different.. But i can go to the bathroom with ease now unlike yesterday, i can bend it more and i can walk better then yesterday.. i can squat ALITTLE but once i get to a certain spot i cant go any further.. im trying not too do too much on it cause like i said it might just be the drugs.. Well im able to walk on it now.. but it still feels like its gunna roll majorly.. Got ANOTHER week off work Stil hurts to squat or sit down etc but i should be better in no time. AND i capped my internet 2 days ago .. So i rang up and upgraded it just so it would change in an hour MWHAHAHA so evil..

Going to see a specialist tomorrow. (after i forced them to refer me) i've popped my knee once and rolled it three times in the last weeks.. All random occasions.. Not on purpose.. It's seriously not looking good..

MRI here i come.

I've had a MRI before.. that's not what i'm afraid off.. I'm afraid of how much it's gunna cost me..

It's not in one spot anymore it's all over under my knee cap (If that sentence makes sense) Some mornings (like today) i wake up and it's brely even noticable) but then i have days like yesterday and i can barely walk on it without feeling like it's gunna roll.. Sigh

just become a supermodel, you'll only weigh 40kg then so u wont have any weight or stress on it lol. Seriously though...suckful huh, dont stress too hard, most things are able to be fixed, including the bill afterwards.

Went to the specalist and he thinks its my cartlidge.. I gotta go for an MRI and if its covered by Medicare i wont get an appointment till december but if it isnt then i get one in 3 weeks for $200..

But anyway he says that im not allowed back at work until the MRi but if it's my cartlidge then i gotta get a keyhole surgery but if it's my cartlidge AND ligament then i gotta get a whole new knee reconstruction.. oh FUN!!

There is an extensive complex tear if the lateral meniscus involving the body, anterior and posterior horns. This has both horizontal and longitudinal components. The medical meniscus appears intact.

So fucked if i know what that means ubt i look up the lateral meniscal injury thing and it basically says the cartilage under the knee cap is torn and i will need surgery. SOOOO dreamland here i come.

im kinda scared.. i've never had surgery before and/or been admitted into a hospital since i was born.. It says it takes 6-8 weeks of recovery time after the surgery..

Centerlink is fucked.. i got no more sick days at work (cause its not done by compo) and i have to wait 6 fuckin weeks before they can confirm all my details and pay me anything.. Fuckin so over this government thinking they can take care of us.. If i didnt have Imba how do they expect me to live on 6 weeks of nothing.. i have bills to pay!

Bluntly.. Gotta have surgery.. Go in with a camera and repair the tear or some shit.. they cant take it out or anything cause its a cartilage that needs to be in there... Been put on a 12 month waiting list.. I thought Gillard was gunna fix this sorta shit.. fuckers.
