dont see why you couldnt have a burra as a pet, plenty of ppl have tamed the likes of magpies and such.

...burras.....as u call them have a tendency to nip off a finger or 2 if they are being hand fed as they have razer sharp beak or teeth....

i have a pigeon that never leaves our backyard. will occasionaly fly off to eat or whatever but is back before sundown. been like that for 2years as well now.

Magpies and crows are pretty smart though, like a whole tier of intelligence above other birds. Though I believe its the European Magpies that are smarter than our Australian ones.
