They just wanna reduce global warming, nothing wrong with that, they wouldnt say no to the NBN but they said NO to the filter, Mr.Brown has great policies, dont jump to conclusions if you havnt seen what theyre offering. Howard was a dick, but he did some great stuff to Australia, Ruddy was meh kinda fucked up, GilLard was a snake, i think its time for teh greenies Very Happy cheers

I think its time to stop worrying about global warming, for many reasons but the main one is that there is absolutley no scientific proof at all that its even happening!

It pisses me off SO much to hear people mention the words "enviroment" and "Global Warming" every sentence, i strongly believe that we dont need this country to be led by a bunch of enviromentalists, thats the new word for 'Hippies', If you watch american news or basically any other countrys news you would notice that the "Enviroment" isnt every second topic, Australia for some reason is the only country freaking out about "Global Warming".

Now about the election, Howard was an idiot but if you've watched South Park you'd know that no matter which way you look at it, your always voting for either a Giant Douche or a Turd Sandwich. But look at all the good he did for australia and look at all the stuff ups bloody Rudd made.

Labour = Bad.
Liberal = Good. Thats my opinion.

What we need is a digital dictator aka a Helios thing like deus ex. No matter how good human intentions are they are always corruptible and greedy, I have given up on democracy since any one has a say even idiots (scientific studies have show the human IQ average is lowering, hence there more idiots voting).

I vote for National here in NZ and they doing a worse job the labour, next election I'm just voting for the most fucked up party (Bill and Ben party anyone???) since my vote wont do fuck all.
Like i always say politicians = someone with excellent deception and lying skills.

I'm afraid I have to side with Jimbob, especially after the debate/speech things on wednesday night where Bob Brown stated he would like to tax all people earning 100 000 dollars or more 50% of their income. How ridiculous is that??

The greens are not a good alternative to the major parties, simply because they have no real policies regarding anything substantial other than the environment. Plus a vote for the greens is a vote for labour anyway, with that 'deal thing' they do.

Also it might be good for some of you to note that this year if you turn in a blank ballot form it counts as a vote for labor as well. So if you plan on wasting your vote on either the greens or not writing anything then remember it is going for labor.

I on the other hand will be voting for labor because I do not want a massive god-botherer as our PM. Especially after that article in the Sunday Mail a few weeks ago stating that 3/10 Queenslanders think that humans lived with dinosaurs. I am to suspect of religious people in power, but that is just me.

This is why I hate politics, too much shit. Anyway I totally agree with Jimbob, you are either voting for a Giant Douche or Terd Sandwich. Labor gets us into shit, Liberal is just full of apes, and The Greens are just a bunch of grass eaters. If you vote for either Gillard or Abbot its still gonna turn out into shit. And in my personal opinion I don't think it was right to just kick Rudd out like that, in fact I don't think Rudd wasn't that bad at all, of course he made a few mistakes but hey, were human. Anyway politics is just too stressful and should just die in a hole and rot.

It'd be great if there were a list of promises that Labour will fufill if we vote for them, like shit they'll do and introduce, keep the same, etc, and then one for Liberals.

Then can just quickly compare by reading through, pick one and hope for the best.

I fucking hate having to sift through tons of vague bullshit (and yeah, thats politics)

That's the stupidest way to look at it. It's common sense that we have to take care of what sustains us. It's common knowledge that we are doing many things that are destroying the planet. Stop and think about our unnatural levels of consumption and waste.

Even if the impact of global warming isn't doing everything some people say, there is nothing wrong with wanting the best for the planet. If you choose to be a climate change skeptic, fine, but you have to be an imbecile to disregard caring for the earth either way.

Yeah, it should be about what principles they value and what they are going to do for Australia and the world. Not what they can say to sway people to give them their vote.

A vote for greens is pretty much a vote for labour. Liberals for me, i cant stand gillard. This mining tax they want to do is stupid, Were in a middle of an economical boom which is fed from the mining boom, take half of the money from the mines, there goes our boom. Recession all over, i cant wait! ka boom!

Actually carts, the system only taxes the profit of the company after a threshold and the profit only so if they are earning huge profits and break the threshold then they become taxed while the small guys wont even scratch the surface to be able to be taxed. Its not really stupid at all and yes I do know about the way it is because my father is a tax accountant.

So dont believe all the stories you hear, the mining tax does not affect the companies the least because its only taking a percentage of thier profit margin after the threshold so its not directly affecting them as much as they'd like to portray.

By shit you mean the Global Financial Crisis? If thats what you mean then lol *shakes head*
Both parties have the good and bad policies and thats what you should be looking at....for example

Julia Gillard wants the NBN to go ahead, Abbot prefers to just patch the existing system...that means no optical cable networks - that sucks to me.

Work place choices - We all know that liberal may have something under their sleeves with this one.

Boat People - Both parties have the wrong ideas, my idea would be to tackle the problem at the source. The Australian embassies in the most notorious areas for refuges should have immigration systems set up there so that they can be processed at location instead of jumping on a boat and floating over 'maybe undetected' It would give them an incentive as they wouldn't have to fork out their life savings to the people smugglers and it would keep the unwanted detainees out of the country. You cannot BEAT people smugglers but if the boats ARE intercepted it would mean we COULD send them back to their country where they'd have to get processed anyway.

Biggest fail election this year. I found out that you can vote for a communist party, so I will be voting for them. The reason that nobody in Australia gives a shit is because the Liberals are shit and because Labour is shit plus it is run by a woman. I reckon she will get thrown out shortly after this election anyway.

I honestly don't know what the fuck I am going to do tomorrow. I think I may either seriously vote for Liberal, or seriously vote for the communist party. The communist party is my most likely choice. The name alone suggests that it is something fucked up, so I don't even need to bother with the policies.

In all Seriousness though, I don't think I am even on the electoral role. I have not voted in two years. If I am, just getting my name marked off and leaving. I honestly think that democracy is fucked. We have two parties who seem to be working more against each other then they are for the countries.

Edit: I have decided to vote for the communist party. http://www.cpa.org.au/guardian/2010/1468/01-vote-for-real-change.html

nope, ranga was leading from the start, once they realised how fail a women head of state would be, abbott started winning seats throughout the country, has caught up and now in the lead, in my opinion australia aint stupid enough to let a women control man business (HAHA)

abbott will win

^^What he said.

Voting for NBN, Liberal are so backwards on this one.

And most of the other policies are the same. Labour has come more to the right recently.

I was sorely tempted to vote for the climate change skeptics party, but went for labor anyway Razz
