in case anyone has errors

sometimes i find my shots which should have nailed an enemy haven't quite, gonna try this stuff out.

Quote:

Are you tired of shooting people in Bad Company 2 but they don't take any damage? So was I. One poster on Gamefaqs (spank_thru101) posted a possible solution to the problem so I decided to test it out. Upon further investigation, this was also something you could edit in previous battlefield games.

Basically, add these two lines;

SettingsManager.floatSet GSDefaultLatencyCompensation 0.0450000
SettingsManager.U32Set GSInterpolationTime 45

to your gamesettings.ini and settings.ini file in the BFBC2 folder.
In gamesettings.ini, add them between the lines;

IntroPlayed=1
[GstPersistence]

In settings.ini, just add it to the end of the list. Save both files.

BEFORE YOU TRY THIS, change the value to your general server ping. For me, when I refresh the list, most servers are 31-45 ping. So, I change the values to .045 and 45 for 45 ping.

Say most of your servers are 73 ping, you'll want to change the values at the end of the previously stated changes to .073 and 73 respectively because you're generaly playing on 73 ping servers.

Upon further testing, lowering the value below the server ping results in even more accuracy, and lowering it much more makes the hitboxes in front of the target.

Apparently the battlefield series tries to compensate for an average of 100ms latency by default and so the hitboxes appear to "lag behind" the actual player model you're seeing in game. This fix changes it so that the models are where the hitboxes actually are by adjusting to your average ping instead.

The reason I had captions for serverlist ping and in-game ping value is because I tried with both options. You can see that the serverlist ping was the right one to choose for the value edit and caused the hitboxes to be entirely more accurate, while the in-game value arguably made them even worse.

So far over 30 people have reported much more accurate response-time and hit detection, while I haven't had a single person tell me that it didn't work. Test it out, let me know in this topic how it works for you.

to add, I said to add it between those two entires in the gamesettings.ini because it didn't work in 2 other places I tried it. (beginning and end), so I'm guessing you can have it anywhere in the middle, that's just where I chose.

Also, this is some info about a camoflage pack coming out. sounds cool:

Well im quite happy with my reg anyway on bfbc2 so im not going to touch it however when i use to play battlefield 2 and get a 7 - 10 ping on gamearena servers i would get my ass handed to me everytime, after changing the same stuff your posting here in battlefield 2 it made a huge difference.

Very true quacks, In BF2 this was a common tweak.

i haven't notice a difference. Gaming is still the same. You have your shit servers and you have your good. This little add on didn't do anything for me.

Sounds like a border line hack / file mod to me,
What you are effectively doing is modifying your files for an advantage over other players.
If it actually proves to do anything at all in the new game.

Don't try this at home kids, you risk being caught as a hacker with modified files being the offence.

I caution those who have already done this to set their files back to their original state, especially if you have not noticed any difference.

Considering some of you are involved in competition matches, It would be a real shame for the team to have any result quashed due to any of you having done this or even being put under dispute because you have admitted to trying this kind of thing prevoiusly.

just by looking at these two commands

SettingsManager.floatSet GSDefaultLatencyCompensation 0.0450000
SettingsManager.U32Set GSInterpolationTime 45

seems your changing the hit box position to be more accurate with respect to your ping.
This would only affect you greatly if you have a crappy line connection with outstanding latency issues otherwise it might fuck up your gameplay by changing the hit box position and make you crappy (or more so).
i wouldve thought that a game such as bc2 would have these set to auto to adjust it if its needed?

Wounded I hear where you are coming from mate, FAKE commands, FAKED video footage.

Which would make them an EPIC FAIL HACK.

Doesn't mean that it wont be checked by internal or PB cheat detection or detection available for this kind of thing which may become available in the future.

Admins will generally at some point after the release of any new game become more informed about the capabilities of the cheat detection provided and therefore able to configure their servers for tighter security.

I can already hear the ROFL's people will get for being a tard when trying to post a ban appeal for forgetting to remove the EPIC FAIL HACK.

Bit of an over reaction i think troppo Very Happy

As virt says, it only moves the hitbox, to account for lag. Well known and documented for BF2

I have no need to try it in BC2 as standard feels fine for me, and it doesnt appear to work based on woundeds comments anyway.
