a young man in britian aged 22 dies of cirrhosis of the liver from binge drinking since he was 13. One of the youngest persons ever to die in britian of the disease. The doctors refused a liver transplant as they believed he would not remain sober past 6 months after the treatment and that someone else would benefit better from having the transplant.

Is this a case of 'unfairness' or a wake up call for people to respect their bodies alot more?

Why wasn't this kid put in rehab or somehow taken away from the bottle? Did this kid see a doctor and get warned about the immediate dangers he would face from continually drinking so much? Can we blame the parents for not intervening accordingly?

its just like drugs though too. it can be hard to pull away from drinking when you usually see it happening everywhere. plus he was thirteen when he was starting. when ur at that age its hard to make right decisions coz some kids are trying to fit in.

its not unfairness why the fuck do we blame the doctor or the people withholding the organ when the mother knew of the heavy drinking and just didn't say shit, it's got all information on him when he was young like what he drank and when but the mother didn't say she tried to help him or send him to rehab.
This is one case of millions and he isn't any special, if they gave him the organ then the other patients who deserve it will be dead
