Post i made...

Cons
- Performance issues and lag spikes
- Hackers (Getting rarer now though)
- Lack of Squads/Teams

Pros
- Quick paced when full server
- SSM makes for interesting variations in play style (Custom vehicles)
- Addictive

The biggest problem i have is that people are comparing it to other games and how it is or isn't like COD or BF etc when in reality, it's crysis. Admittedly there are features in other online FPS games that make them great games but what crysis lacks in copying other games features in makes up in other ways. Like the nano suit for example. it really allows different play styles off the bat and adjusts the players stats to fit. i know that if im trying to hide from someone who's chasing me its gold when you're in cloak mode and they 'chase' the cloak noise, you spring up and ambush them.

Vehicles, whoop de doo.

Ultimately i think the biggest flaw in the game is it has really only focussed on the nano suit and left out other things that made other games replayable. I can attest to that from getting bored of the game and leaving to play something else. but i always come back.

im not making an account, but the only things id really like to see in it is first person speccing, working replays, more SSM support and some more linear maps.

ouch i wanted to post something, but free email accounts / domains are not allowed to sign up.
i was going to criticise some peoples posts for some things such:

- as 'invisible gauss snipers' although a pain in the neck, gauss makes it easy to find people and can be taken out with a regular sniper.

- the idea of a persistent award system as in persists through each round would just ruin the game, as all the better players would have amazing stuff compared to newer players.

- "i cant see anything on my screen because of those huge icons"
holy motherfucking shit just turn off 3D objectives or toggle them with 'O'

- strafing is indeed retarded with the glitch strafing, that should be fixed, too much fucking with hit reg and is the ONLY thing that makes it anywhere near what you could call a Quake 3 shooter. otherwise this game is NOT a quake 3 shooter

- i personally like the game because of the complex objective gamemode known as powerstruggle. like really now thats fucking way cool, better than BF2.
dont like BF2 squad systems because then youre forced to rely too much on the lack of noobyness from other players to do well and thatd get frustrating. +fighting over roles, etc..
and those COD4 and BF2 unlocks are hardly different to the crysis in round ranks

- cant be as pretty as single player as the higher the resources you use the poorer performance for most people, meaning you cant fucking play

- wars is heaps fucking easy to get kills, it only takes a few shots, everyone just fucking misses!

ok alot of these issues are directly a result of peoples failure to master that steep learning curve. if someone so could post my following criticisms i'd appreciate it:

Cons:
Poor performance after 24+ players on a server
Strafe Glitch messing up hit reg
Steep Learning Curve

Pros:
Interesting complex objective game type (power struggle)
Variety of vehicles and equipment to take each other out (AA and Gauss tanks > Vtols > Infantry >AA and Gauss tanks)
Steep Learning Curve = rewarding enough knowing you can play the game well

Further notes:
Crytek should be open to encourage server support especially that has been offered through SSM by modifying servers tastefully, as well as provide some sort of guide to get started with a proper dedicated server.
Needs a proper tutorial to teach people alot of basic, overlooked things

reading over that thread shows me how badly they need a tutorial just to show some fucking goddamn basic things. i guess its just basic to me though. i thought my tutorial woulda been patronising.

Join up guys FFS its Node...thought yas all would be members lol.

My post:

CONS:
-Lack of engine optimisation. Vanilla was released without the engine being ready IMO thus Crytek have been playing catchup ever since. As a result they released a completely different game with WARS MP alongside Warhead SP. Being as demanding as it is on even top end systems like mine, it forces me to play MP on all low settings to be able to play competitively. Even though it will run on Full spec, the game will bog down when intense action is going on, being ok for SP this is no good for MP. Not wanting to make comparo's but the Unreal engine etc run MP games full spec no worries as with their SP.

-The lack of regular players/fluctuations in community. This is up and down all the time, but with a small player base is felt alot more in AUS esp. When new players join in during free trial periods etc. there is a spike but it always dies down and the community doesnt build or keep these players. There are many reasons for this as others have stated, steep learning curve, system demands, many veteran players who own them and scare them off, etc etc

-Varation of game modes/mods: These were limited to PS, and IA with Vanilla then TIA added for Wars....not good enough. Varation = replayability as others have stated also.

PRO
Saying all this I have been playing Crysis and Wars since the start as have many, and have gone off and played others in that time.....but I always come back to playing Crysis regularly. It just has that draw that others dont, for me its the uniqueness of the Nanosuit, its capabilites and always finding new ways to use it....the main and most important Weapon in the game is the suit and it is the hardest to master....hell i am still learning ROFL.
Also being a very social game the regular players and Vets are all good friends and get along great and are always passionate about making the game better and building the community as people like Shin and Quacks have been doing for a long time now.

Node has a very comprehensive Tutorial up that Shin put together.......most of the posters i have never seen ingame, on node or FTW. With a game that has such a steep learning curve you have to stick at it for a VERY long time...as we all know.
